β€œThermometers don’t care who’s in office,” said Dan Vimont, a professor of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. β€œBy undercutting our ability to monitor and assess the current state of our world, we are disadvantaging ourselves economically, and we’re disadvantaging ourselves in our national security as well.”
