Faraday Future has teased the upcoming Super One, ahead of its debut in June.

Faraday Future has released a revealing teaser image of their upcoming Super One minivan. It’s slated to go into production later this year and become the first member of the value-focused Faraday X lineup.
Scheduled to debut in June, the van has a massive grille that would make Lexus blush. It appears to be slightly recessed and sport a fully enclosed design with illuminated accents.
Additional details are hard to make out, but we can see slender headlights, a sculpted hood, and pronounced wheel arches. Previous teasers have also revealed a generic minivan shape as well as an expansive greenhouse.
Faraday hasn’t said much of substance about the van, but they’ve billed it as an “AI-MPV” that will “meet the dynamic and diverse needs of visionaries and their families.” The model is also slated to deliver “twice the performance at half the price.”
The Faraday X lineup is designed to compete in the $20,000 – $80,000 price range and previous reports have suggested the van will come with two rows of leather seats. Second-row passengers take priority and they’ll reportedly be greeted by a small fridge as well as heated and massaging seats with integrated footrests.
Little else is known about the van at this point, but the company has previously suggested there could be electric and range-extended powertrains. Faraday has also hinted at taking refundable reservations in the second quarter of this year.
However, everything’s still up in the air as Faraday Future recently said the FX family is “contingent on securing appropriate funding and finalizing necessary agreements.” That’s not reassuring when the automaker has a terrible track record and posted a $355.8 (£273.9 / €328.5) million loss last year.
Jeep has released new pictures of the 2026 Compass, ahead of its debut this spring.
The model rides on the STLA Medium platform and will be offered with three different powertrains.
Italian production begins later this year, although a U.S. launch could be delayed due to tariffs.
The teaser campaign for the redesigned Jeep Compass is kicking into high gear as the company has tapped photographer Alessandro Dobici to do a shoot at the Melfi plant, where the crossover will be built. The resulting images are a fashionable black and white blur.
While Jeep isn’t saying much, they promised the Compass will retain a seven-slot grille and trapezoidal wheel arches. The teasers also show a Recon-like front fascia with slender headlights as well as lenses that feature a grille motif.
Speaking of the grille, it appears to incorporate some illuminated accents. Elsewhere, we can see a pronounced rear spoiler and what appears to be wheels with another grille motif.
The interior pictures don’t reveal much, but we can see familiar “Since 1941” wording. We also get a glimpse of contrast stitching and “Jeep” embroidery.
The automaker was coy on specifics, but said the Compass will play a “crucial role” in their electrification strategy. Jeep went on to say customers can expect an “expanded engine range with e-Hybrid, e-Hybrid plug-in, and fully electric options.”
Jeep kicked off the teaser campaign last October, when they revealed a sketch of the model and some initial details. At the time, they said the Compass would be based on the STLA Medium platform and go into production in Italy in 2025. They later confirmed a European debut for this spring.
A North American launch was originally slated for 2026, but reports have suggested the model is on hold as it was supposed to be built at Brampton Assembly in Canada. With a 25% tariff on imports, the model’s U.S. prospects look grim so Stellantis is said to be rethinking its product strategy.
Skoda has teased the new Elroq RS, ahead of its debut early next month.
The sporty electric crossover features a unique front bumper and stylish wheels.
Inside, there’s a flat-bottom steering wheel and seats with embroidered headrests.
Skoda introduced the Elroq last fall and now the company is gearing up to introduce the all-new RS variant. As part of this effort, they’ve released a revealing teaser video that gives us a glimpse of the electric crossover ahead of its debut on April 3.
Set to be unveiled at Milan Design Week, the Elroq RS has been given a sporty makeover as it features a high-gloss black Tech-Deck Face as well as a unique front bumper. The latter has a sportier central intake with painted triangular accents. They’re joined by horizontal black bars that flow into the vertical air curtains.
Moving further back, we can see new front fender badging and aerodynamically optimized wheels with a Mamba Green accent. While the rear end appears to carryover, the blacked out bumper suggests it could be updated as well.
The styling changes continue inside as we can see a perforated flat-bottom steering wheel with vRS badging. Elsewhere, there are two-tone front seats with vRS embroidery on the headrests. We can also expect a familiar digital instrument cluster and a freestanding infotainment system with a 13-inch display.
Powertrain details remain elusive, but the current range-topper is the Elroq 85. It features an 82 kWh battery pack as well as a rear-mounted motor producing 282 hp (210 kW / 286 PS) and 402 lb-ft (545 Nm) of torque. This allows the model to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 6.6 seconds and have a WLTP range of 361 miles (581 km).
Nissan has teased an “adventure-focused SUV” with an electric powertrain for North America.
While the name has yet to be confirmed, the EV could signal the return of the Xterra moniker.
The model is scheduled to debut by Q1 2028, and will be produced in the Mississippi plant.
Among the many models teased by Nissan during its recent product roadmap presentation, one caught our attention: a mystery electric SUV heading to North America. And while the details are still sparse, it sounds like a perfect candidate for a modern-day reincarnation of the Xterra.
This SUV appeared in a group teaser alongside the facelifted Pathfinder and new versions of the Rogue (X-Trail) SUVs. Nissan described it as an “adventure-focused SUV” while confirming that it’s an electric vehicle.
Nissan revealed that the “all-new” electric SUV will be produced at the Canton, Mississippi plant, with production set to begin at the end of the Japanese fiscal year 2027, which wraps up on March 31, 2028.
From the official (darkened) photo, the SUV appears to feature a boxy shape, bulky roof rails, and a fully covered grille with integrated LED graphics and an illuminated Nissan emblem. The rear shoulders are nicely toned, while dynamic lines grace the hood, and plastic cladding around the wheel arches adds a rugged touch. It’s a design that hints at the vehicle’s adventure-oriented nature.
According to Car and Driver, design prototypes they’ve seen lean into an off-road aesthetic, further fueling speculation that this could be a spiritual successor to the Xterra.
The SUV appears to be smaller than the Pathfinder and the Rogue, suggesting it will slot into the compact segment. While Nissan hasn’t revealed any specific details, it’s likely that this new EV will be built on a unibody architecture, distancing it from the ladder-frame setup of the old Xterra. However, a beefed-up suspension, dual-motor all-wheel drive, and off-road technology could still give it the rugged capabilities the Xterra was known for.
The Story Of The Nissan Xterra
The Nissan Xterra, first introduced in 1999, was a rugged, off-road-ready SUV that drew its underpinnings from the Nissan Frontier pickup. The second generation arrived in 2005, and both generations offered rear-wheel drive (RWD) and four-wheel drive (4WD) configurations. Unfortunately, the Xterra was discontinued in 2015 without a direct successor.
In 2018, Nissan unveiled the Terra, a Navara-based SUV aimed at Asian markets. While it was updated in 2020 and renamed the X-Terra for the Middle East, it was never sold in North America.
Last year, Ponz Pandikuthira, Senior Vice President and Chief Planning Officer for Nissan Americas, said that a new generation of the Nissan Xterra was “very actively considered”, describing it as an “authentic and serious truck” with a relatively affordable price point. More recently, it was reported that Nissan could be working on a modern Xterra study for the 2025 SEMA Show, dubbed “Project X”.
We’ll have to wait a little longer to learn about Nissan’s plans for reviving the Xterra, but an affordable boxy SUV with an electric powertrain, like in this teaser, should do the trick.
The facelifted Infiniti QX60 will debut in 2025, alongside a Sport package for the QX80.
The new QX65 crossover coupe will follow in 2026 as the QX60’s sportier sibling.
Infiniti will launch an electric SUV in 2028, while its electric sedan has likely been delayed.
Infiniti, following in the footsteps of its parent company Nissan, has dropped several teasers of upcoming models, giving us a glimpse into its future plans. Among the highlights are a new SUV Coupe, a facelifted QX60, and (naturally) an electric SUV.
QX60 Facelift and New QX65
We’ll start with the the second-generation QX60, which made its debut in 2021 and shares its foundation with the Nissan Pathfinder. Based on official teasers and spy shots, we can expect a mid-cycle refresh later this year. The redesign will include a new front end with an illuminated badge and a few other styling tweaks. So, if you were hoping for a major overhaul, it’s not exactly here. But, hey, a fresh look is still a fresh look.
Next up is the Infiniti QX65 crossover coupe, set to debut in 2026. It’ll come with split LED headlights and a sharply sloped roofline inspired by the original Infiniti FX. Positioned as a sleeker, two-row alternative to the QX60, the QX65 will likely be powered by the same turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 268 hp (200 kW / 272 PS).
On the larger end of the spectrum, the QX80 will get a Sport package in 2025. This facelifted version will likely give the flagship SUV a bit more edge, though it’s unclear just how “sporty” it will actually get. Either way, it’ll be offered in Latin America and the Middle East.
Infiniti has also teased a fully electric SUV, which seems to be the production version of the Vision QX Inspiration concept from 2019. Set to arrive in 2028, the new model will incorporate Infiniti’s latest “Artistry in Motion” design language, along with a range of tech features that sound impressive in the press release.
What About The Long Promised Electric Sedan?
Interestingly, the electric sedan, based on the Vision Qe concept, was notably absent from the press release. Initially, this model was supposed to debut before the SUV, but now it looks like the timeline might have shifted past 2028. It could be that Infiniti has quietly pushed back its electric car rollout in response to the US market’s shifting tax credits under President Trump. Originally, the plan was for Infiniti to manufacture its electric vehicles in Canton, Mississippi.

Hyundai’s new R&D center in Shanghai is spearheading its development
Hyundai is preparing to unveil a new fully electric SUV, specifically designed for the Chinese market. This upcoming model, which remains unnamed for now, is a result of the Beijing Hyundai joint venture, and it recently made its first appearance in an official teaser ahead of its expected launch later this year.
The teaser reveals a camouflaged prototype of the SUV undergoing cold-weather testing. Despite the cover-up, we can catch a glimpse of distinct styling elements that set this SUV apart from the global Hyundai Ioniq 9, which is notably absent in China.
Even under camouflage wraps, the SUV’s design features some clear visual cues. The headlights are connected by a slender LED strip along the front. The rear sports a muscular shoulder line that flows into a more upright tail, complete with an integrated spoiler. Not to be overlooked are the full-width LED taillights, which stretch toward the sides, enhancing the SUV’s profile.
Hyundai recently opened an R&D center in Shanghai, dedicated to developing electric models specifically for the Chinese market.
Beijing Hyundai
While we’re still waiting for detailed specifications, it’s likely the new SUV will be built on Hyundai’s E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform), which is shared across their Ioniq and Kia EV lines. This platform supports both single and dual motor setups and can handle battery packs as large as 110.3 kWh, suggesting this SUV could offer impressive range and performance.
Currently, Beijing Hyundai’s offerings are limited to internal combustion engine (ICE) models, including popular vehicles like the Sonata and Elantra sedans, the Tucson L and Santa Fe SUVs, and the Mufasa SUV. The only electric model available in China right now is the performance-oriented Ioniq 5 N, imported directly from Hyundai’s global lineup.
We’ll get more details about this new fully electric SUV on March 28. Whether that will be the official debut or just another teaser remains unclear, but for now, the teaser video below will have to do.
The dramatic concept is inspired by the world of video games and has a crazy design.
It’s unclear what kind of mechanical changes the brand has made to the car.
Hyundai will lift the veil on the Insteroid next month and unveil it publicly.
Over the past few years, Hyundai has created several high-performance electric concepts, proving to the world that it’s committed to building cars that are fun to drive and doesn’t take itself too seriously. It looks to have done this yet again with its latest project, known as the Insteroid.
This special one-off, teased with several images and a video, takes the regular all-electric Inster and completely transforms it by taking inspiration from video games. As you may have guessed, the car’s name is a portmanteau of ‘Inster’ and ‘Steroid’ and will be unveiled in the flesh in early April.
The car appears to share very little in common with the regular Inster. All-new bodywork has been crafted for the concept, including massive flared wheel arches at the front and rear, not dissimilar to those from the i20 N WRC car. The cabin appears to be completely stripped out, and we can see a roll cage in there. Elsewhere, Hyundai’s designers have crafted a set of aerodisc wheels and a towering rear wing.
Several teasers of the car shared on social media show it’ll come complete with a raft of bright orange accents and a ghost logo that looks like it’s been pulled straight from Pac-Man. One teaser shows some of the car’s interior instruments, including Boost buttons, driving mode settings, and a track mode. There also look to be orange seat belts.
According to Hyundai, the Insteroid is a “thrilling ‘glitch’ in the automotive matrix, seamlessly merging the boundary-pushing aesthetics of video games with real-world engineering to create a vehicle that feels like it’s morphed straight out of a digital speedway.”
The road-going Inster, which itself is based on the Casper, is sold with a single electric motor delivering 95 hp in base form of 113 hp in the flagship version. Here’s hoping Hyundai fits a more potent powertrain to the Insteroid, perhaps the same dual-motor setup as the Ioniq 5 N which is used by the RN24 rolling lab model presented last year.
Perseus is a UK-based EV startup that will launch a compact crossover by late 2027.
The model will ride on a platform sourced from a European automaker, who will also provide maintenance.
An Italian engineering and design company will handle the styling and some of the development and testing.
The EV boom has not gone as expected for many companies and a number of them have gone belly up including Arrival, Canoo, and Fisker. However, electric vehicle sales are climbing and there’s a new entry in the form of Perseus.
The British-based company has emerged from “stealth mode” and is being led by a team of former senior executives from Bentley, Lotus, Ineos Automotive, and Jaguar Land Rover. They’re planning to launch a “performance and technology-focused compact SUV” by late 2027.
Set to compete in the premium segment, the Perseus SUV will be based on a “proven, state-of-the-art EV platform from a European OEM Group.” The company has also partnered with an Italian engineering and design firm to handle interior and exterior styling as well as development, prototyping, and testing. On top of that, the firm will be using a European contract manufacturer for production.
This is pretty smart as the company will use an existing platform as well as an established manufacturer. It also sounds like a lot of the work will be outsourced to a firm that specializes in vehicle design and development. This stands in stark contrast to the typical startup philosophy, where companies try to do everything themselves and burn through millions of dollars in the process.
We can expect to learn more in the coming months, but the teaser image shows a sleek crossover with a Genesis-like vibe and slender headlights. They’re joined by a long hood, which flows into a rakish windscreen. Elsewhere, there’s an angular shoulder line and what looks like flush-mounted door handles.
Little else is known about the EV at this point, but Perseus says it will have an “inspirational and emotive design, groundbreaking technology, engaging performance, and exceptional user experience with compelling value.” We can also expect artificial intelligence and “exceptional personalization.”
Perseus will embrace the direct-to-consumer sales model, which focuses on online sales and a handful of brand experience centers. The company will also lean on its automotive platform provider for a “European-wide service and maintenance network.”

Skoda has dropped the first teaser images of its seven-seat flagship electric SUV.
The EV gets the Modern Solid design language from the Vision 7S concept.
Skoda is targeting SUVs like the Kia EV9 with the yet-unnamed Kodiaq-sized model.
Skoda had its best financial year ever in 2024 and the Czech company isn’t about to take its foot off the accelerator. On the same day Skoda revealed its record-breaking €2.3 billion ($2.51 bn) profit, it released teaser images of a range-topping electric SUV coming next year.
Sure to be the most expensive Skoda ever, the SUV – potentially called ‘Space’ – is expected to be a production version of the 2022 Vision 7S, a concept that introduced us to the Modern Solid design language that has since made its way onto the new Epiq.
But the new model will be much larger than that little SUV, probably around the same size as the current combustion-powered Kodiaq, which is the brand’s biggest, most expensive model. Offering room for seven passengers, the new EV will take on the likes of the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9.
The three teaser images are darkened shots of the front and rear, plus a close-up of the rear quarter, and don’t reveal the side profile or the grille details. But from what we can see of the hood, rear hatch, D-pillar, and T-shaped front and rear LED lights, it looks very much like an upsized Epiq. We’ve previously spied the SUV on test dressed in full camouflage; we’ve included those pics at the bottom of this post along with a Carscoops rendering suggesting how the SUV could look when it hits the street.
Skoda is expected to rely on the tried-and-tested VW MEB EV platform for the new SUV, and based on previous comments from Skoda, it should measure around 192.9 inches (4.9 meters) long, or 9.8 inches (250 mm) longer than the company’s five-seat Enyaq.
MEB tech would allow Skoda to offer single and dual-motor powertrains to keep the entry price low enough to stay true to the brand’s value ethos – the EV9 lineup also starts with a single-motor, RWD model. The 7S concept promised a WLTP range of 373 miles (600 km), which is far better than the 293 miles (472 km) VW promises for the ID.Buzz, which is based on the same MEB platform.
Skoda delivered 936,600 cars in 2024, up 6.9 percent year-on-year and the arrival of this large electric SUV in 2026 could help push the brand over the million-unit mark for the first time in its history.
Toyota’s electric pickup teaser hints at a new model distinct from the upcoming Hilux EV.
The double-cab design suggests a departure from previous single-cab electric prototypes.
Speculation suggests it could be a production version of the 2023 EPU Concept model.
Electric pickup trucks are becoming an increasingly common sight as a growing number of eco-conscious buyers look to combine practicality and ruggedness with zero emissions. Toyota is now teasing an all-electric pickup of its own, though this new model appears unrelated to the electric Hilux currently in development for Thailand and Australia.
A single teaser image showing the truck’s silhouette was shown at Toyota’s event in Belgium last night, where the company also unveiled the new bZ4X, C-HR+, and 2026 Lexus RZ. The mystery pickup was teased alongside two other upcoming Toyota models—one of which may be the electric three-row SUV that has reportedly been pushed back to 2026.
As noted by InsideEVs, the pickup shown in this teaser has a double-cab design, unlike the single-cab electric Hilux previewed in Thailand this time last year. It also doesn’t look like the double-cab Hilux prototype Toyota is testing alongside mining giant BHP in Australia.
One possibility is that the new electric pickup being developed by Toyota could be a production-ready Tacoma EV, inspired by a concept shown to the world in late 2021. But, given that the Tacoma nameplate isn’t used on European soil, it may indicate at a production version of the EPU Concept from 2023, a compact electric pickup that’s apparently due to hit the market in 2027 in key markets like South America.
Given that we don’t know exactly what we’re looking at, technical details about a potential new electric truck from Toyota remain a mystery. It would conceivably be based on one of the brand’s existing platforms and likely be offered with the same improved electric motors as found in the updated bZ4X and the new C-HR+.
While speaking about the three unidentified future models, Toyota Motor Europe president and chief executive Yoshihiro Nakata said, “these three parts [of the EV strategy] will focus on enhancing the customer’s lifestyle just as powerfully as they enhance our carbon neutrality goals.”
Volvo gave us a glimpse of the new EX60 crossover, ahead of its launch next year.
It will ride on the new SPA3 platform, which will eventually underpin all future Volvos.
The XC60 recently got a facelift with styling tweaks and a new infotainment system.
After a series of high-profile leaks, Volvo finally unveiled the ES90 mid-size sedan earlier today. However, most people probably didn’t watch the reveal video that was livestreamed from Stockholm, Sweden.
If they had, they would have found a short teaser for the upcoming EX60, which will serve as the electric equivalent of the popular gas-powered XC60. It appears roughly 25 minutes into the clip as a woman opens a door to reveal a partially covered clay model. She quickly closes the door, but not before revealing an EX90-like rear end.
While there isn’t much to see, the electric luxury crossover has angular upper taillights that reside on either side of the rear window. At the base of the window, they transition to the outside edges of the car.
Besides the taillights, we can see shapely rear haunches and a recessed liftgate. They’re joined by a black rear bumper that has a chrome horizontal element.
Volvo didn’t say anything about the crossover, but it was briefly mentioned during their 2024 financial presentation. In particular, the company noted the first EX60 test vehicle has been built and driven. They added the model will ride on the new SPA3 platform, which will “launch on target with significant reduction on cost.”
The company went on to suggest the SPA3 platform will debut shortly and be a scalable architecture that will eventually underpin every single Volvo. While we can expect to learn more in the coming months, the EX60 isn’t expected to be launched until next year.
Given that the crossover will ride on an all-new platform, it’s too early to talk about specifications. However, since it’s an upgraded version of the SPA2 platform, the EX60 might share some components with the EX90 and ES90.
Alpine has released images showing its A390 testing near the Arctic.
First interior picture reveals same steering wheel as A290 hot hatch.
The Porsche Macan Electric rival makes its global debut on May 27.
Bouyed by a Car of the Year win for its A290 hot hatch, Alpine is building up a buzz about the next car in its reinvention plan. The Renault performance division just dropped a load of images of the A390 crossover undergoing winter tests ahead of a May 27 reveal.
Our own scoop photographers have snapped disguised A390 prototypes before, but never in such detail. These official shots give us up-close views of the aero bridge at the front end, showing how air is drawn in between the horizontal light bar and Alpine lettering and spat out across the sunken hood.
They also show the spine running across the hood and roof, the LED taillight design, the small trunk lip spoiler and give us our first glimpse of the A390’s cockpit. The single interior image reveal a chunky flat-bottom, leather-wrapped steering wheel that appears identical to the one on the little A290, which takes inspiration from Alpine’s F1 car.
In addition to the usual spoke buttons for cruise control, volume and voice control functions it features three switches designed to help you tailor the driving experience. A red button marked OV for ‘overtake’ on top of the right spoke and activated with a thumb press operates the power boost function (though on the A290 you can also get the same response by kicking the throttle past the detent).
There’s a five-setting Drive mode button slung underneath the same spoke and, below the opposite one, a rotary dial to tweak the amount of regenerative braking. Just visible in the footwell in the background is a pair of sporty metal pedals, but annoyingly we can’t make out the shape of the dashboard or see the screens or seats.
These pictures also give us our first look at the the torque-vectoring capabilities of the A390’s triple-motor setup, many of the shots showcasing the crossover’s oversteering capabilities, which bodes well for its chances of giving the Porsche Macan Electric a run for its money.
Dimensions released by Alpine tell us that the 4,615 mm (181.7 inches) long A390 is a little shorter, narrower and lower than the more SUV-shaped Macan, but the Alpine claims it will offer room for five passengers.
Mercedes has released a handful of details about the fully electric GLC with EQ Technology.
The crossover is slated to have advanced batteries and an 800-volt architecture.
The model will also have a standard heat pump, efficient motors, and a new braking system.
Mercedes is previewing the upcoming GLC with EQ Technology by releasing official ‘spy photos’ and a few initial details. The model succeeds the EQC and promises to be a “significant milestone for Mercedes-Benz.”
While the company was coy on specifics, the electric crossover aims to set “new benchmarks in performance, range, efficiency and charging speed, while maintaining … the exceptional versatility and practicality that GLC customers expect.” In order to achieve this, the model has an 800-volt architecture as well as DC fast charging rates in excess of 320 kW. The latter figure is pretty impressive as the Cadillac Optiq maxes out at 150 kW.
Besides premium charging technology, the GLC promises to have advanced batteries with a special cell chemistry. The automaker didn’t go into many details, but said the cells “utilize anodes with silicon oxide blended into graphite, achieving exceptionally high gravimetric energy density.” This suggests we can expect relatively small and lightweight batteries that deliver plenty of range.
Mercedes was tight-lipped about performance specifications, but noted the rear drive unit was developed entirely in-house. The company went on to say that all-wheel drive models have a “powerful” front drive unit that can be “swiftly engaged or disengaged” as needed. This should help to increase efficiency, while still providing all-weather traction.
Speaking of efficiency, the GLC with EQ Technology has a new braking system that combines the brake booster, master cylinder, and the electronic stability control system into a compact module that provides a “confident brake pedal feel that delivers precise and consistent feedback.” Besides being smaller, the new system optimizes brake energy recuperation and this helps to extend the crossover’s range.
A heat pump also comes standard and, when it comes to heating the interior, it uses approximately one-third of the energy of a comparable electric heater. Mercedes when on to note it can “simultaneously harness three energy sources: waste heat from the electric-drive unit, waste heat from the battery, and ambient air.” The automaker added it “effectively cools in the summer and heats in the winter.”
The new model will be based on the Van Electric Architecture platform.
Production version will use an 800-volt electrical architecture.
Flagship models are set to have over 311 miles (500 km) of range.
Mercedes-Benz has confirmed the name of the concept previewing the next-generation Vito and V-Class vans. Called the Vision V, it was first teased in December and is expected to be unveiled this year, ahead of the new range of electric vans hitting the market in 2026.
They also dropped another teaser, but unfortunately, it doesn’t reveal much. We can see a large Mercedes-Benz emblem and a Vision V badge, likely positioned on the rear of the van. At the top are red LEDs, which probably form part of the concept vehicle’s taillights.
According to the German brand, “the Vision V show car is Mercedes-Benz Vans’ vision of seamlessly combining generous space with maximum exclusivity.” According to the company, it will combine “traditionally crafted materials” with “hyper-modern, tech-savvy design elements that are as stylish as they are unexpected.”
Underpinning the Vision V is the new scalable Van Electric Architecture (VAN.EA) that’ll give the brand the flexibility to create entry-level family-focused versions, VIP shuttles, and “spacious and luxurious limousines.”
Based on a teaser from last year that showcased the silhouette of the Vision V, we know the vehicle will have a familiar van shape. Of course, this isn’t much of a surprise, as you can’t exactly revolutionize the shape of a van without turning it into a different kind of vehicle.
All future electric vans inspired by this concept will feature an 800-volt electrical architecture and be offered in single and dual-motor configurations. Mercedes-Benz has promised flagship variants will be able to travel over 311 miles (500 km) on a single charge and initially launch with Level 2 self-driving systems. Both Level 3 and Level 4-equipped models will hit the market at a later date.
The new Jeep Compass shows more skin in teasers ahead of its global debut.
It has been confirmed that production of the SUV will begin in Italy this year.
However, the North American launch of the Jeep Compass might be delayed.
Stellantis has dropped a few more teasers of the new-generation Jeep Compass, revealing that it will make its global debut in Europe this spring.
European production of the revamped Compass will begin later this year at the Melfi plant in Italy, a detail confirmed to Carscoops by Stellantis spokesperson Lou Ann Gosselin last month. Meanwhile, production at the Brampton Assembly Plant in Canada has been put on hold as Stellantis rethinks its product strategy for North America.
More Changes on the Horizon for Jeep
In addition to the initial teaser showing the Compass’ profile, Jeep has now unveiled more design details. The SUV will retain its iconic seven-slot grille, paired with a set of boxier headlights—an homage to the Jeep Recon, though these headlights are a bit slimmer here. The updated taillights feature sharp LED graphics that follow the contours of the rear shoulders.
The new Compass will ride on Stellantis’ STLA Medium architecture, which it shares with several other models, including the Peugeot 3008/5008, Opel Grandland, DS 7, and the upcoming Citroen C5 Aircross. The Compass will offer a variety of powertrain options, including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric versions, with all-wheel drive available on certain trims.
Stellantis promises the new Compass will offer “affordable Jeep capability, best-in-class performance, and state-of-the-art technology.” As with other SUVs in the Stellantis family, we can expect the latest in connectivity and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) from their parts bin.
But unlike some of its more mainstream counterparts, the Compass is likely to lean into its adventurous roots, sporting bolder interior accents—think along the lines of the smaller Jeep Avenger.
Launch Timeline Still in Flux
While the European launch is set for the second half of 2025, the timing for the Compass’ arrival in North America remains unclear. There are rumors that Stellantis may reconsider launching the electric version in the United States and Canada, which could push the release back by as much as a year.
As we get closer to its spring debut, more details about the new Jeep Compass are sure to surface. In the meantime, it seems North America will have to play the waiting game a little longer.
China’s MG has released two teaser images of its new MGS5 EV.
The SUV uses the modular scalable platform (MSP) from the MG4.
Debuting in the coming weeks, it should up MG’s cabin quality game.
MG is twisting the thumbscrews on Europe’s carmakers again. The British-badged, Chinese-owned company has teased its latest model, an electric SUV called the MGS5 EV that debuts this spring, and it’s not good news for the likes of VW and Stellantis.
The replacement for the MGZS EV uses the same modular scalable platform (MSP) as the MG4 hatch, a car that’s been met with rave reviews and is racking up huge sales in countries like the UK thanks to its temptingly low price. And at around 4,480 mm (176.5 inches) long, the new SUV is a significant 162 mm (6.4 inches) longer than the outgoing ZS EV.
MG released the Chinese version of this model, the ES5, in its home market last October, so we already know far more about than could be gleaned from looking at the two teaser images and scant details published as part of this week’s European teaser campaign.
Two darkened images (which we’ve lightened) have been released, one showing the new utility from the back where we can see a fat transverse LED light bar containing an illuminated MG logo that blends into a pair of taillights that wrap around the rear quarter panels.
The rear hatch door has a spoiler at the top and appears to have a tiny sedan-style notchback lip above the light bar with an integral molded spoiler. A second image showing the rear part of the car from the side reveals that the taillights form a Y shape and the door handles are the traditional pull kind, rather than the fashionable flush type.
And maybe it’s just us, but those alloy wheels look like they’re taking design cues from the classic Rostyle rims fitted to MGBs and Midgets in the 1970s. We’ve dropped the images of the Chinese ES5 in the gallery at the bottom of the page to give you a better idea of what to expect when the new EV debuts in Europe in the coming weeks.
MG didn’t release any spec numbers for the MGS5 EV this week, but for some context the MG4 range kicks off with a 168 hp (170 PS / 125 kW) single-motor powertrain driving the front wheels. That’s the same kit MG confirmed for the ES5 in China last fall. In Europe the MG4 is also available with a single 201 hp (204 PS / 150 kW) motor or in dual-motor, all-wheel drive XPower form with 429 hp (435 PS / 320 kW), and we’d expect MG to also one or both of those options in the SUV in the West.
If the MG4 falls down in any one area, it’s the interior, whose cabin design and materials, as well as its infotainment, still lag behind most European, Japanese and Korean rivals. But the automaker says the MGS5 EV will feature a ‘premium’ cabin, while still offering MG value. Given that the smaller ZS EV this model replaces starts at £30,495, we’d expect the MGS5 EV to start at around £32-34k.

The image aligns with Volvo’s recent teasers, revealing a chunky and rather tall profile design, complemented by the characteristic front end seen in Volvo’s latest EVs. Volvo is gearing up for the launch of the all-new fully electric ES90 that will take place on March 5. The software-defined sedan will be the most powerful Volvo ever in terms of core computing capacity, and promises to offer a driving range of over 700 km (435 miles). Meanwhile, the company is also updating the S90 sedan, ensuring an ICE option remains available alongside the new EV.
Following the original teaser from last year, Volvo has shared additional photos of the ES90, revealing an unconventional split taillight arrangement at the back. Despite the classic three-box sedan silhouette, the EV features additional LEDs on the sides of the rear window, complementing the main taillights in the traditional position.
Earlier teasers have showcased the ES90’s sleek roofline, familiar greenhouse, flush door handles, and a roof-mounted LiDar. The front end is expected to resemble the EX90, featuring Volvo’s signature “Thor’s hammer” LED headlights.
Longer Range And Faster Charging
Volvo has confirmed that the ES90 will be fitted with an 800-volt system, giving it the longest range and the fastest charging times among its EV lineup.
Besides offering an estimated WLTP range of over 700 km (435 miles), the battery pack of the ES90 will be compatible with 350 kW charging and feature new battery management software. As a result, it will be able to gain 300 km (186 miles) of range in just 10 minutes of charging, while a 10-80% charge will be completed in 20 minutes.
Volvo also mentioned that the electric motors will be lighter, without getting into details about the combined power output.
In terms of sustainability, the ES90 will use recycled and natural materials in its production. Furthermore, the company will be transparent about the source of the rare metals used in the battery pack, and its carbon footprint.
Advanced Tech Under the Hood
The ES90 is built on the SPA2 architecture that’s already used by the EX90, although the new SPA3 platform will debut with the EX60 in 2026. The electric sedan is set to be the first Volvo to feature a dual Nvidia Drive AGX Orin setup, giving it the highest core computing capacity in the brand’s lineup. This configuration will also be introduced in the EX90, with existing customers receiving a complimentary upgrade.
The system supports AI-based active safety features and sensors, contributing to Volvo’s “Safe Space Technology“. In terms of sensor hardware, the ES90 will be equipped with one LiDar, five radars, eight cameras, twelve ultrasonic sensors, and an “advanced driver understanding system inside the car”.
As with the mechanically-related SUV, the electric sedan will feature the Volvo Cars Superset tech stack – including hardware and software modules and systems – that will eventually be applied in the automaker’s entire EV lineup. Software updates will allow the ES90 to “continuously evolve and improve over time” in the areas of safety, connectivity, and performance.
The Volvo S90 Is Getting A Facelift
Alongside the ES90, Volvo is developing a heavily updated version of the ICE-powered sedan, one of five new products planned for 2025. Leaked photos reveal a complete redesign of the front and rear ends, giving the classic model a fresh, modern appearance. Originally launched in 2016 with a minor update in 2020, the S90’s facelift extends its lifecycle as an alternative to Volvo’s growing electric lineup.
It remains unclear whether the V90 estate will also receive the new redesign. Last month, Volvo announced plans to introduce “meaningful upgrades” for two of its existing models in 2025, one of which is the recently facelifted XC60.
By extending the lifecycle of its older ICE-powered models, Volvo is providing alternative options alongside its growing electric lineup, especially after stepping back from its goal of becoming an EV-only brand by 2030. This approach was also used with the recently facelifted XC90 flagship SUV, which remains available alongside the fully electric EX90.
