Honda is doubling down on its electrified future, and it’s starting to look interesting. Twelve months after providing us with a glimpse of its vision for the next generation of EVs, the Japanese automaker has confirmed plans to debut two new electric vehicle prototypes at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

A teaser image gives us a sneak peek at these two prototypes. On the left sits a car that appears nearly identical to last year’s Saloon EV Concept, retaining its signature design elements like the intricate LED taillight, illuminated Honda script, and the diffuser-mounted slim brake light. However, Honda has labeled it a “prototype” rather than a concept this time, suggesting it’s an evolved version. We can’t tell from the shadowy image what’s changed, so we’ll have to wait for its CES debut to see how Honda has refined the design and engineering.

The SUV Grabs the Spotlight

Perhaps of more interest is the 0 Series prototype pictured next to it. This vehicle adopts the form of a boxy SUV and it looks like a big one too, perhaps similar in size to the Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Kia EV9. It appears to lack traditional wing mirrors, has a lengthy wheelbase, and an almost completely vertical rear window adorned with a wraparound LED light bar. Two extra lights are positioned towards the base of the rear bumper.

Last year, Honda provided a preview of the new vehicles that will form part of the 0 Series family. Set to launch in 2026 alongside the saloon are a mid-size SUV and an entry-level SUV. In 2027, these will be followed up by a three-row, large SUV, while a compact SUV has been scheduled for 2028 and a small-size SUV is in the works for 2029. By 2030, Honda will launch 7 vehicles in its 0 Series globally.

Tech Takes Center Stage

It’s not just these two concepts that Honda will bring along to CES. The Japanese brand will also introduce a new proprietary vehicle operating system to be used by its future EVs. New automated driving technologies are also on the agenda.

Honda’s new EVs are based around a “Thin, Light and Wise,” approach. The brand’s CES display will focus on the ‘Wise’ value and also provide a look at the System on Chip (SoC) underpinnings of the 0 Series models, as well as Honda’s future Software Defined Vehicles (SDV).

Spy photographers caught the facelifted Skoda Enyaq earlier this year, and now we’re getting an official glimpse at the updated EV with the release of its first teaser. It features a new Modern Solid design inspired by the Elroq, which debuted earlier this year, and will be available in two body styles.

The biggest changes occur up front as an illuminated Tech‑Deck Face replaces the traditional grille. The crossover also adopts split lighting units as well as an evolutionary bumper.

Designers didn’t stop there as the hood now wears “Skoda” lettering instead of a badge. Other highlights include dark chrome accents and an Enyaq-exclusive Olibo Green color.

The rear end appears to carryover, but prototypes have been spotted with a disguised tush. This suggests we can expect a handful of changes that will likely include new taillights and a modified bumper.

Regardless of what happens out back, Skoda said both models will benefit from improved aerodynamics. This promises to increase range, although the automaker declined to mention if there will be any powertrain updates.

If there aren’t any changes, we can expect an entry-level Enyaq 60 with a 62 kWh battery pack as well as a rear-mounted motor developing 177 hp (132 kW / 179 PS) and 229 lb-ft (310 Nm) of torque. This setup enables the crossover to have a WLTP range of 249 miles (401 km).

The Enyaq 85 has a larger 82 kWh battery as well as a more powerful motor producing 282 hp (210 kW / 286 PS) and 402 lb-ft (545 Nm) of torque. This increases the range to 352 miles (566 km), while also lowering the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time to 6.7 seconds.

Buyers can also choose between two all-wheel drive variants. The Enyaq 85x has 282 hp (210 kW / 286 PS) and a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of 6.6 seconds, while the Enyaq vRS packs 335 hp (250 kW / 340 PS) and takes 5.5 seconds to hit 62 mph (100 km/h).

Spy photographers have caught the facelifted BMW iX on multiple occasions, but the automaker is giving them a break by releasing official pictures of the updated EV. They reveal a handful of changes, but this isn’t a radical makeover.

Starting up front, there’s a lightly revised grille that adopts angular lines similar to the new X3. We can also see an evolutionary front fascia with a prominent intake that is flanked by vertical air curtains. They’re joined by a familiar hood and updated headlights.

The rest of the design largely carries over, but some minor tweaks could be hiding beneath the camouflage. We can also expect interior updates as previous spy photos have shown a camouflaged cabin.

While BMW didn’t have anything to say about the facelifted crossover, the pictures were released in conjunction with a test drive event. BMW Blog attended and said the model has new seats, which are more comfortable than their predecessors.

Some of the biggest changes are under the skin as the publication says the iX has upgraded electric motors with new bearings and inverters. These help to improve efficiency and the improvements are aided by lower rolling resistance tires.

The changes reportedly help to make the 2026 iX 10% more efficient than the outgoing model. That’s before factoring in expected battery improvements, so it sounds like we can expect a significant range boost.

That would be a welcome development as the 2025 iX xDrive50 offers an EPA-estimated range of between 302 and 309 miles (486 and 497 km) depending on the size of its wheels. Those numbers drop to 284 and 285 miles (457 and 459 km) for the range-topping iX M60.

DS Automobiles has announced the name of its upcoming fastback crossover, that will be called the N°8, while revealing the first photos of its dashboard. The model will be an EV-only affair, and its debut will take place in “a couple of weeks”.

The new EV was initially believed to adopt the DS8 moniker, but it turns out it introduces a new naming strategy for DS Automobiles. According to the company, the N° symbol is a nod to the French language, representing the usual way of writing “number” in French. The name is written on the tailgate of the N°8, with the ° designed like a diamond.

A similar treatment will be applied to DS Automobiles’ future lineup, although the company didn’t set a timeline for the change. Each model’s number will be indicative to its size and segment, as with the existing model range (DS3, DS4, DS7, DS9).

The Interior Of The DS N°8

In order to hype things up ahead of the upcoming reveal, DS published photos of the N°8’s interior, which introduces a new design language for the brand. Highlights include the new four-spoke steering wheel with integrated buttons, the digital cockpit with an ultra-wide infotainment display, and the floating center tunnel with what looks like touch-sensitive controls.

The boat-inspired cabin features premium materials, highlighted by the extensive use of ambient lighting. We can also see the Electra 3D audio system by Focal mounted high on the door cards.

An earlier teaser was focused on the exterior of the DS N°8, with photos of a lightly camouflaged prototype. The EV will have a drag coefficient of 0.24 cd thanks to the sleek roofline, the grille-less nose, the active bumper intakes, the low hood, and the flying buttresses. At the front, it features the DS Pixel Vision lights, mirroring the shape of the slim LED taillights.

The DS N°8 rides on the STLA Medium architecture and has an impressive electric range of up to 466 miles (750 km) between charges. DS has yet to reveal the specifications of the electric powertrain and didn’t say whether the N°8 will use a single-motor or a dual-motor setup. Furthermore, while the platform is compatible with mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, DS made it clear that the N°8 will be an electric-only offering.

We will learn everything about the DS N°8 on its official debut, which is only “a couple of weeks” away.

Update 11/28: Land Rover has released new photos of its Range Rover Electric prototypes, shown without camouflage during desert testing, following earlier trials in icy conditions.

Unlike most automakers, which typically release cryptic teasers or reveal camouflaged prototypes, Land Rover surprised us by showcasing uncamouflaged prototypes of the Range Rover Electric. Following cold weather testing in the Arctic Circle, the company completed hot weather testing in the United Arab Emirates, highlighting the EV’s resilience to extreme conditions.

The prototypes look nearly identical to the ICE-powered Range Rover that has been around since 2022. The only exception is the grille that appears to be a provisional component. This will likely be replaced by a uniquely-designed grille on the production version, which is set to arrive in 2025.

The Range Rover Electric will be JLR’s second fully electric production model after the Jaguar I-Pace. The goal is for the EV to match the performance and signature off-road credentials of the combustion Range Rovers, which is why the new powertrain has been tested on different types of terrains and weather conditions.

Pre-production prototypes of the SUV have been exposed to temperatures ranging from –40°C (-40°F) in the frozen lakes of the Arctic Circle to +50°C (122°F) in deserts of the Middle East, ensuring the durability and stable performance of the all-electric underpinnings, while testing its thermal management system to the extreme.

The teasers highlight the “Intelligent Torque Management” system, with an individual electric drive control unit managing the slip on each wheel. Thanks to JLR’s “innovative software”, the new system is much faster than the traditional ABS-based setups, reducing the torque reaction time at each wheel from around 100 milliseconds to 1 millisecond.

Land Rover says that in combination with the the stability control and chassis systems, the new setup will maximize traction on all surfaces and “significantly” enhance the Range Rover drive experience. The EV will also feature a “well‑balanced weight distribution” and an “advanced suspension system”, contributing to its off-road credentials.

The new model will ride on the Modular Longitudinal Architecture. The company has not given away any information about the power output of the electric powertrain or the capacity of the battery. However, it has been officially confirmed that the Range Rover Electric will use an 800 Volt architecture and will offer V8-levels of performance.

The company has also promised that the Range Rover Electric will surpass any other luxury electric SUV in terms of towing, wading, and all-terrain capabilities.

Production of the Range Rover Electric will take place in the UK, next to the mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions. As reported by Autocar, it will initially use battery packs from other suppliers before switching to in-house assembled units.

While we don’t have a set date for the debut, Land Rover has opened a waiting list for the EV since late 2023, and said it will welcome client reservations in 2025.

DS Automobiles has published teasers of an upcoming fully electric model, featuring a fastback crossover bodystyle. The yet-unnamed EV – expected to adopt the DS8 moniker – will offer a WLTP range of 466 miles (750 km) when it arrives before the end of the year.

While this is the first time that DS shows us the upcoming EV, we are already familiar with its design thanks to spy shots. These gave us an early look at the front end, and the interior design.

The teasers show a prototype with a camouflage wrap highlighting the impressive range. The gold and black graphics are inspired by the livery of the DS Formula E single seater, and do little to hide the design underneath.

According to DS, the EV was designed with a focus on aerodynamics. The sleek roofline, the active intakes on the front bumper, the low hood and the flying buttresses contribute to a drag coefficient of 0.24 cd. The front end adopts a grille-less look with aggressive “DS Pixel Vision lights” featuring vertical DRLs, a design that is mirrored by the sharp LED taillights.

The discreet plastic cladding on the profile and the raised suspension result in a crossover stance, with DS designers trying to offer a stylish alternative to coupe SUVs. The company didn’t show the interior, which promises to offer “extraordinary technology and refinement”, with a mysterious feature on the driver’s seat. Earlier spy shots have revealed a four-spoke steering wheel, a digital cockpit, futuristic switchgear on the center tunnel, and premium materials for the upholstery.

DS has previously revealed that the EV will ride on the STLA Medium architecture, which already underpins the Peugeot 3008/5008 and Opel Grandland SUVs, and will serve as the base for the successors of the Citroen C5 Aircross and DS7. Despite using the same 98 kWh battery pack, the 466-mile (750 km) range of the DS model is 29 miles (50 km) longer compared to the mechanically-related Peugeot E-3008.

As for today, the French brand hasn’t backed-up from its decision to only introduce EVs from 2024 on. However, it’s worth noting that the STLA Medium platform is compatible with mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, meaning that the new DS doesn’t have to be an EV-only affair. Given that the launch of the fastback crossover is only a few weeks away, our questions will be answered soon.

Faraday Future announced plans for a mainstream brand earlier this year and now they’ve released the first teaser image of a Faraday X (FX) prototype. It’s probably one of the worst promotional photos in history, but it provides a glimpse of a camouflaged vehicle on the back of a trailer.

While there isn’t much to see, the mystery model has prominent wheel arches and door-mounted mirrors. They’re joined by an angular shoulder line, relatively small wheels, and a greenhouse that extends beyond the front doors. There also appears to be a protruding badge on the front fender.

Faraday didn’t say much about the vehicle, but confirmed the first FX prototypes have arrived at their Chinese headquarters and will eventually make their way to Los Angeles. The automaker added the shipment “marks the official launch of the development and testing phase,” and they’re aiming to become the “Toyota of the AIEV [Artificial Intelligence Electric Vehicle] era.”

Marketing hyperbole aside, the company previously announced plans for an FX 5 and FX 6. The former is slated to be a “large-space sporty AIEV” that costs between $20,000 and $30,000. The FX 6, on the other hand, will be a large family vehicle that’s targeted to occupy the $30,000 to $50,000 price range.

Both are slated to be offered with electric and range-extended powertrains, although nothing is known about them at this point. The company has also said production is slated to begin by the end of 2025, but this is “subject to securing necessary funding.”

On that note, Faraday’s forward looking statement was longer than the press release and highlighted numerous red flags including the company’s limited operating history, significant barriers to growth, history of losses, and expectation of continued losses.

Update 12/13: Mercedes-AMG has kicked off the next phase of development for its high-performance electric SUV, marking the second model to ride on the AMG.EA platform. Prototypes of both the SUV and the mechanically related GT 4-Door are now undergoing cold-weather testing in northern Sweden, close to the Arctic Circle. Sub-zero temps are putting key components through their paces on both public roads and specialized tracks, giving engineers a proper workout.

To mark the occasion, AMG has decided to give us a peek at the prototype itself—well, kind of. It’s still wrapped in enough camouflage to make a spy movie jealous, but we can already catch the design vibes in the fresh video that they dropped. It looks set to borrow heavily from the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door EV in terms of styling, with soft, rounded lines and a fairly low-slung silhouette for an SUV.

Previously, Mercedes-AMG dropped a teaser for its first standalone electric SUV, scheduled for a 2026 debut. Built on a dedicated AMG platform, this model aims to go beyond the typical formula of adding special touches to a standard Mercedes SUV. Instead, it’s designed from the ground up with AMG’s performance DNA at its core.

Developed “entirely in-house” on the AMG.EA architecture, it will be a bespoke AMG offering, rather than the performance derivative of a Mercedes SUV. The brand’s insistence on it being “AMG first, all-electric second” hints at a potential rethink of what an electric performance SUV can actually deliver.

The teaser sketch gives us a few clues. It reveals a muscular profile with a long hood, aggressive fender lines, and a sweeping roofline that’s a bit more Purosangue-inspired than you’d expect from a German SUV. Still, it’s less ostentatious than Ferrari’s take—AMG has always preferred a slightly more understated approach to menace.

The AMG.EA platform features an 800V architecture and is expected to support both the upcoming, yet-to-be-named SUV and the electric successor to the 4-Door AMG GT. Both EVs will be equipped with lightweight axial-flux electric motors, custom-developed for AMG by UK-based company Yasa.

A quad-motor setup is expected to produce over 1,000 hp (746 kW / 1,014 PS), offering all-wheel-drive and advanced torque vectoring abilities. The model will also benefit from four-wheel steering, active suspension, and an AMG-specific battery.

The SUV is expected to be similar in size to the 2022 Vision AMG concept, measuring around 5.1 meters (200 inches) in length, with a wheelbase stretching over 3 meters (118 inches). This gives it a larger footprint than the ICE-powered Mercedes-AMG GLE 63, edging it closer to the scale of the fully electric EQS SUV flagship.

On paper, its rivals span both ends of the propulsion spectrum. It’ll face off against gas-powered heavyweights like the Porsche Cayenne GT and Aston Martin DBX, as well as hybrid and all-electric contenders such as the BMW XM, Lamborghini Urus, and the Lotus Eletre.

We’ll likely get more breadcrumbs from AMG in the months to come, as the slow-drip teaser campaign ramps up. The company has confirmed that development test drives are set to begin this winter.

Update 12/16: Continuing its teaser campaign, Kia has published more revealing videos of the Kia Syros and confirmed that the global debut will take place in India on December 19.

Kia is ready to unveil a new small SUV offering, called the Syros. The model will make its global debut in India on December 19, featuring minivan-like proportions, a well-appointed equipment list, and what the company describes as an “innovative” seating arrangement.

The Syros forms a key part of Kia’s “Kia 2.0 Strategy” for India, which aims to meet the specific demands of local buyers while maintaining global appeal. Set to bridge the gap between the Sonet and the Seltos in the brand’s lineup, the Syros is poised to play a crucial role in Kia’s continued expansion in the region.

The name “Syros” follows Kia’s established pattern of using “S”-starting names for its SUVs, such as the Sonet, Seltos, Stonic, Sportage, and Sorento. While the company hasn’t revealed the exact inspiration behind the name, Syros is a Greek island in the Aegean Sea, close to the more famous Mykonos.

From the teasers, the Syros presents a boxy silhouette reminiscent of a smaller Kia Carnival minivan, with a flat roofline and a nearly vertical tailgate. The profile features a prominent B-pillar, echoing design elements seen in models like the Hyundai Casper and Inster. Other design highlights include the LED headlights mounted on the edges of the bumper, and the L-shaped taillights flanking the rear windshield.

Gwanggu Lee, Managing Director and CEO of Kia India, noted that the new model incorporates a “progressive SUV design language that doesn’t follow the conventional SUV design anymore”. The CEO also promised it will offer “segment-first features, exceptional performance, and unparalleled comfort”, focused on the needs of Indian buyers.

As reported by Autocar India, Kia also revealed that the Syros will feature a “lounge-like” interior, with “futuristic features and an innovative seating layout”. The vehicle’s equipment list is expected to include a 10.25-inch infotainment display, powered and ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, a Bose audio system, up to six airbags, and a range of advanced safety features.

At launch, the Kia Syros will be offered with two non-electrified powertrains – a turbo 1.0-liter gasoline and a 1.5-liter diesel – with a fully electric version rumored to join the lineup in future. Power will be transmitted to the front axle via a six-speed manual or a an automatic (six-speed torque converter or seven-speed dual-clutch).

The market launch of the Kia Syros in India is expected in early 2025. The fact that Kia published teasers of the SUV in its worldwide channels suggests it could also eventually be offered in other markets.

Production of the Scout Traveler and Terra isn’t set to kick off until 2027, but the VW Group is already casting an eye toward what might launch next. According to some reports, a two-door off-roader is on the table, aimed squarely at the likes of the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco. A tempting proposition? Or would Scout be better off carving its own path rather than trying to muscle into a market already dominated by some heavy-hitters?

At the unveiling of the two production-intent concepts in Nashville, Scout showed attendees a slideshow about its future plans. On one of these slides included side profile shots of the Traveler and Terra, as well as a mystery third model. Most of this model was covered in a bright orange cover, but some details are still visible.

It appears as though this model sits on slightly larger wheels and tires than the Traveler and Terra. It also has an even shorter front overhang than the brand’s first two models and looks to offer slightly more ground clearance. The Autopian, which shared the slide, suggests that this third model may also be shorter than the Traveler SUV, perhaps indicating that it could be a two-door with a convertible roof.

A model like this with the Scout badge wouldn’t be without historical precedent. The original Scout built by International Harvester had two doors, and several models were offered with removable roofs, including a retractable soft-top known as the ‘Sportop.’ If Scout is aiming to evoke nostalgia with a modern twist, a two-door convertible could be just the ticket.

When asked about Scout’s decision to launch the two models with a hardtop and an optional ‘Cabana’ style roof, Shaheen Karimian, the head of product marketing, hinted that there might be a niche audience craving a fully open-top experience in a more compact package. Karimian suggested that while the current lineup caters to practicality, there’s a potential market—albeit a small one—that would appreciate a true open-air option.

“How can we provide an open air feeling with the maximum amount of benefit, with the least amount of compromise? We landed at the cabana roof and glass roof options,” he told The Autopian. “On a two-row vehicle of this size, to deliver on all the other customer needs, the removable panels would be large, heavy, and challenging to provide a high quality experience without creating a higher customer price or an impacted vehicle experience.”

“It is true a smaller subset of customers are saying they want that removable roof experience… Doesn’t mean we can’t do one in the future, on say a vehicle with fewer doors and a shorter wheelbase,” Karimian added.

Of course, the future of a third model from the Scout brand will rest on the popularity of the Traveler and Terra. Scout also needs to get these two models into production and into the hands of customers before it can get too ahead of itself and start investing heavily in future products.

Kia has become a much cooler and desirable brand than it was a decade ago and at next month’s SEMA Show, it will unveil a pair of creations that could show just how hip the carmaker has become.

While only two teasers have been released of the new models, there are no prizes for anyone who guesses what Kia has been up to. The first concept is clearly based on the existing all-electric EV9, as evidenced by those unmistakable LED headlights and daytime running lights.

Kia has then installed a yellow LED light bar on the roof of the three-row SUV and a trio of smaller yellow LEDs between the headlights. A pair of tow hooks are also visible. It seems likely that the special EV9 will be a more off-road-focused variant. Whether or not the concept spawns a production model remains to be seen, but Kia does offer a handful of slightly more adventurous versions of its SUVs, such as the Sportage X-Pro and the Sorento X-Pro. It would only make sense if the EV9 also got the X-Pro treatment. Either that or the marque may be working on some individual accessories it could launch for the EV.

The second vehicle teaser is a little more unusual. The LEDs are vastly different than any current Kia production model but do appear identical to those featured on the PV5, the electric van Kia unveiled at CES in January, which will soon hit the production line. We can see Kia has added two additional lighting units to the front fascia of the concept and like the EV9, has also added a yellow LED light bar to the roof.

It’s slightly harder to determine Kia’s plans for this model. While there could be some demand for an off-road version of the EV9, we suspect the market for an off-road commercial vehicle like the PV5 is smaller.

Whatever the case, all will be revealed at SEMA, running from November 5 to November 8 in Las Vegas.

Update 11/12: As the LA Motor Show draws closer, Hyundai is cranking up the teaser campaign for its Ioniq 9. The latest short video, which you can check out for yourself below, gives us a few quick glimpses of both the exterior and interior, including an unmasked shot of the front end.

Additionally, Hyundai has shared a ghost sketch of the cabin, revealing a three-row layout that accommodates up to seven passengers in a “lounge-like environment.” They also highlighted the “spacious cabin with a flat floor across all three rows, enabling easy movement within the vehicle.”

Hyundai has been on a relentless EV offensive in recent years, pushing hard to expand its all-electric Ioniq lineup and establish itself as a major player in the zero-emissions space. The latest chapter in this saga is the Ioniq 9—the brand’s biggest and boldest EV yet—designed to tap into the growing demand for larger, three-row electric SUVs. Teased with just enough detail to stir up interest, the production Ioniq 9 is set for its full global unveiling in November.

The Ioniq 9’s arrival was first hinted at with the launch of the compelling SEVEN Concept at the LA Auto Show in November 2021 and will serve as Hyundai’s alternative to the Kia EV9. While these teasers don’t provide us with a detailed look at the new SUV, it’s clear that it will look very similar to that concept.

Found at the front of the Ioniq 9 will be a full-width LED light bar with Hyundai’s eye-catching ‘Parametric Pixels’ design as seen on the smaller Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. As with the concept, the new model will feature additional pixel LEDs running vertically down the front fascia.

The side profile is also quite familiar. It has a very similar shape to the SEVEN Concept and includes particularly thick D-pillars with squared-off wheel arches. The concept stunned with its rear suicide doors, but it seems unlikely these will be retained for the production model. No teaser has been provided of the EV’s rear end, but the side shot does show prominent pixel LEDs, which form a T-shape.

Hyundai claims the diagonal lines that cut across the body are inspired by Hanbok, a traditional Korean garment, while the overall design supposedly draws influence from the sleek hulls and open, airy cabins of luxury boats.

Underpinning the new SUV will be the Hyundai Motor Group’s ever-present E-GMP platform with an 800V charging capability. There’s no word on what battery packs the Ioniq 9 will be available with nor what motor configurations customers will be able to choose from. However, in all likelihood, Hyundai will borrow from the Kia EV9’s playbook, offering the same 76.1 kWh and 99.8 kWh battery packs. If so, power output could range anywhere from a sensible 215 hp to a far more exhilarating 576 hp, catering to a broad spectrum of buyers.

Expect Hyundai to drip-feed more teasers of the Ioniq 9 in the lead-up to its November unveiling, which will take place at next month’s LA Auto Show.

Cadillac’s Lyriq is getting a high-performance Lyriq-V spinoff for the 2026 model year. GM’s fanciest brand confirmed today that the SUV would be the first Cadillac EV to get a hot variant, and says it will debut early next year.

The announcement offered nothing in the way of spec details, but two images and a short teaser video drop a few clues about what the BMW iX M60 rival will offer. Although the exterior makeover is subtle, the Lyriq V looks tangibly meaner than the stock EV thanks to its more aggressive bumpers and color-coded bodykit.

Brembo brake calipers are visible behind fat multispoke alloy wheels and the body looks noticeably closer to the ground in V form. And just in case those cues aren’t obvious enough, there are V badges on the nose and tail and one at the base of each rear door.

A driver in the video can be seen pressing a V button on the Lyriq‘s steering wheel to engage a performance driving mode, and although we don’t know what that does to the power and handling, Cadillac does promise every electric V will offer “exceptional performance, competitive range, and standard all-wheel drive.”

All-wheel drive versions of the regular Lyriq come with 500 hp (507 PS / 373 kW) and 450 lb-ft (610 Nm) of torque, but we can expect the V model to deliver far more of both. Chevy’s Blazer EV, which uses the same GM Ultium platform as the Lyriq, already offers 595 hp (603 PS / 444 kW) in SS trim.

The 2026 Lyriq-V doesn’t only have its sights set on stealing sales from the likes of BMW, Tesla, and Audi in the US, but right across the globe. Cadillac says it will build the SUV in both left- and right-hand drive and sell it initially in North America, Australia, and New Zealand, with availability in other markets coming later in 2025.

Mitsubishi will soon expand its European lineup with two new compact SUVs, set to be locally manufactured by Groupe Renault. One will be an EV and the other an ICE/HEV model, and both will launch in 2025.

The company published a single teaser, with the two SUVs under a veil, next to Mitsubishi’s existing European lineup. The model on the left is most likely the Mitsubishi equivalent of the Renault Symbioz, which is heavily based on the Mitsubishi ASX and Renault Captur subcompact SUV twins. This is evident from the identical lighting signature and the slightly longer body.

Mitsubishi’s new SUV will be available with gasoline, and self-charging hybrid powertrain options. Just like the Renault Symbioz, it will ride on the CMF-B architecture and is expected to measure 4,413 mm (173.7 inches) long.

The other upcoming SUV was originally announced in December 2023 as the first fully electric Mitsubishi following the i-MiEV from 2010. This one will be based on the Renault Scenic E-Tech, which shares the CMF-EV architecture with the Megane E-Tech, the Nissan Ariya, and the Alpine A390.

The Mitsubishi brother of the Renault Scenic E-Tech will feature a slightly tweaked exterior design, with unique LED graphics up front. Options will likely include 60 kWh and 87 kWh battery packs, alongside single-motor 168 hp (125 kW / 170 PS) and dual-motor 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS) powertrains.

The automaker revealed that its upcoming compact SUVs will be equipped with plenty of ADAS. They will also feature a Google built-in infotainment, likely mirroring Renault’s OpenR system.

As hinted at by the official teaser, the new Mitsubishi models will sit above the subcompact Clio-based Colt and Captur-based ASX, and below the Outlander PHEV. The latter was recently introduced in Europe with a more efficient plug-in hybrid powertrain and a bigger battery, allowing a combined range of 844 km (524 miles).

The last International Harvester Scout rolled off the assembly line in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1980 after nearly two decades of production. Volkswagen’s Scout Motors is now aiming to make a triumphant return on October 24, nearly 44 years to the day after the final model was built.

This is an eternity in the automotive world and the company is trying to build excitement by dropping a new teaser image of their “rugged” truck and SUV. The company is keeping details a closely guarded secret, but both models appear to have similar front ends with a protruding bumper and a horizontal bar on the grille.

They’re joined by a relatively flat hood, which echoes the one found on the Ford Bronco. Additional details are hard to make out, but the SUV has a Range Rover-esque silhouette and an angular rear end with a pronounced bumper.

The pickup, on the other hand, has a flatter roof and a crew cab configuration. We can also see a sizable bed and an upright rear window.

We’ll learn full details shortly, but the company reached out to supporters to thank them for keeping the “Scout Spirit burning from one generation to the next.” The EV brand went on to say this moment couldn’t have happened without them.

That sentiment was echoed in a new promotional video, called “Encore.” It pays tribute to the “passionate community of makers, dreamers and restorers” who have carried the Scout torch for the last 44 years. While the new models are absent in the clip, it’s full of nostalgia and that’s something the brand certainly wants to tap into.

Production is slated to begin in 2026 and officials have previously suggested pricing could start around $50,000. If the company is able to hit that target, the models would significantly undercut the GMC Hummer EV lineup which is playing in a similar sandbox.

Mercedes-Benz has stripped away some of the camouflage and provided us with our best look at the 2026 CLA to date. The car takes design inspiration from a concept unveiled 12 months ago and will be offered in ICE and EV guises.

The German marque made the odd decision to unveil this thinly disguised CLA at the 39th Festival d’Hyères in France, a festival for fashion, photography, and accessories. This explains the intriguing grey and red wrap applied to the exterior of the car and while Mercedes didn’t announce any details about the car, we already know quite a lot about the upcoming model.

Visually, adopts a similar overall shape to its predecessors, retaining a sleek profile and a compact footprint. At the front, we can see the outline of a thoroughly overhauled grille with a shape inspired by the CLA Concept of last year. The overall shape of the headlights is also similar to the concept, but curiously, there’s no sign of the Three-Pointed Star daytime running lights incorporated within them. It doesn’t look like the full-width LED light bar has made it to production, either, unless it’s simply well hidden by the wrap.

As with the first and second-generation CLA models, the doors have plenty of bold creases and design lines, including a prominent shoulder line running from the corner of the headlights through to the corner of the taillights. Speaking of the taillights, they are quite clearly inspired by the lights of the concept and include circular LED signatures. A small lip spoiler has also been fitted to the trunk.

Underpinning the new model is Mercedes-Benz’s flexible MMA platform. All combustion-powered models are expected to be four-cylinder offerings with hybrid assistance, while the EV should use an 800-volt electrical architecture that provides charging speeds of up to 250 kW. The electric model will also support bidirectional charging capabilities and support Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functions. A high-performance AMG version of the EV is in the works and could have upwards of 500 hp.

Mercedes is expected to unveil the new CLA in full in the coming months before launching it as a 2026 model in the United States and other markets.

Update 10/16: Update 10/16: With less than a month until the 2024 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, running from November 5 to 8, Mopar has dropped its third teaser for an electric muscle car. While still as cryptic as a fortune cookie, the teaser appears to confirm what some sharp-eyed commenters (props to you, Lee!) have speculated—it seems to be based on the ’67 Plymouth GTX or possibly one of its more modest siblings, the Plymouth Satellite or Belvedere. Either way, Mopar is clearly digging into the archives for this electric revival.

The era of the electric muscle car is upon us, for better or worse. However, Stellantis isn’t resting on their laurels as the company has teased a new concept for the SEMA Show. While it’s natural to assume Dodge would want to showcase the Charger Daytona, that doesn’t appear to be the case. Instead, we could be looking at an electromod judging by the teaser image.

That remains to be seen, but for now, Stellantis did pose an intriguing question: “What kind of future is there for a legendary muscle car? A concept from Mopar may reveal the answer.”

Besides that cryptic hint, the company released a picture that shows four circular lights and a classic grille. We can also see a ventilated hood and what appears to be chrome trim.

Mopar is staying tight-lipped, but it looks like we’ll finally see the car that was bound for last year’s show. As you may recall, the brand dropped a teaser image in October of 2023 that appeared to show a second-generation Dodge Charger. The mystery model was slated to be unveiled at SEMA the following month, but Stellantis pulled out of the show due to mounting costs from the UAW strike.

The second time could be the charm, although history may repeat itself as the UAW is threatening to strike once again. In fact, they’re doing far more than that as UAW President Shawn Fain recently called on Stellantis to “shitcan” CEO Carlos Tavares for doing a “piss-poor” job.
