The Smallest Ioniq Yet Could Become Hyundai’s Biggest Surprise

  • Hyundai will unveil a new fully electric concept at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich.
  • Teasers reveal full-width LED bars on both ends and a ducktail spoiler at the back.
  • The concept will reportedly evolve into a production EV set to arrive next year.

Hyundai has shared the first teasers of a new concept that will premiere on September 9 at the IAA Mobility Show 2025 in Munich. While details are kept under wraps, the concept will likely evolve into a production subcompact EV, likely bearing the Ioniq 2 moniker.

The images suggest that the new model will have full-width LED bars for the headlights and the taillights, similar to the facelifted Hyundai Ioniq 6 sedan. In terms of bodystyle, the EV appears to adopt a chunky fastback / hatchback silhouette with an integrated ducktail spoiler.

We can also see sporty bumper intakes, a pronounced chin, and flared fenders. Hyundai will share two more sets of teaser photos before the unveiling. These will likely provide a clearer view of the exterior design.

Our spy photographers have recently spotted a camouflaged prototype which is believed to be an upcoming Hyundai EV. The shape of the prototype is consistent with the teasers, although the concept will most likely feature a unique bodykit and different wheels.

The production version of the EV is expected to be the smallest member of the Ioniq family – hence the rumors for the Ioniq 2 name. It will likely be positioned above the electric Inster, serving as a zero-emission alternative to the ICE-powered i20 supermini and Bayon crossover.

Chances are that the new EV will share the E-GMP architecture with the Kia EV2 and EV3 crossovers. This means it could be powered by a single electric motor with 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS), sourcing energy from a 58.3 kWh battery pack.

The baby Ioniq will compete with other electric subcompact hatchbacks including the Renault 5 E-Tech, the Nissan Micra, the Peugeot E-208, the Opel Corsa Electric, the Citroen e-C3, and the BYD Dolphin.

According to the latest reports the model could hit the market in the first half of 2026. Before that happens, we will see the concept version at the IAA Mobility 2025. The show will be held in Munich, Germany, between September 9 and 14.

VW’s New T-Roc Is Almost Here With A Big Surprise Hidden Inside

  • Volkswagen will unveil the next T-Roc at the upcoming Munich Motor Show.
  • Leaked prototype images of the new model first appeared online earlier this year.
  • The compact SUV will be offered with ICE, hybrid, and fully electric powertrains.

While Western auto shows have largely died since the COVID-19 pandemic, September’s Munich Motor Show remains an important event on the automotive calendar and will host the unveiling of the new VW T-Roc. This second-generation model will be sold with ICE, hybrid, and battery electric powertrains and has just been teased for the first time.

The image released of the T-Roc shows a black prototype covered with bright yellow text. Although it only shows the new model from the side, it’s obvious that this is the same vehicle that leaked images revealed earlier this year.

Read: VW’s Electric T-Roc Will Be Separate From The ICE Version

Those photos showed the new T-Roc with a thoroughly revised front fascia, including a large black grille with honeycomb-shaped cutouts, sharp headlights, and an LED light bar. Plenty of changes have also been made to the rear of the model, including the fitment of new LED taillights.

While the T-Roc may not be sold in the United States, it is a hugely important car for VW in Europe. In fact, it consistently ranks among the top-selling models on the continent, often rivaling the likes of the Golf, Renault Clio, and Dacia Sandero in terms of volume. As such, this new model had better win over customers, or else VW’s European struggles could be compounded.

\\\\\

Expanding The Powertrain Mix

In addition to the combustion models, VW will offer the new T-Roc with a full-hybrid system that will be offered in the Golf and Tiguan too. The setup combines a petrol engine with an electric motor that can power the rear wheels on its own or work together with the engine, operating much like Toyota’s approach where the system can switch between petrol, electric, or a blend of both as needed.

VW chief executive Thomas Schäfer noted that this hybrid variant will be particularly important in South America.

“We needed to do it anyway, because South America has a need for an HEV drivetrain – and the T-Roc is built in South America for South America, and also in China,” he told Autocar. “Interestingly enough, HEV has also become a big theme in the US specifically. It’s a technology that everybody said was not necessary any more, but now with the BEV slowdown in the US, the balance is [moving towards] HEVs.”

Electric Future

The electric version of the T-Roc will be underpinned by VW’s new Scalable Systems Platform (SSP), becoming only the second model to use this architecture. It will bring with it ultra-fast charging and Level 4 autonomous capabilities.

More: Lucid Gravity SUV Finally Goes Into Production

The mysterious concept will be unveiled on August 14, before making a public debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on the 17. Little else is known about the model at this point, but the Gravity Grand Touring starts at $94,900 and features a dual-motor all-wheel drive system developing 828 hp (617 kW / 840 PS). It enables the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.4 seconds and travel up to 450 miles (724 km) on a single charge.

Besides eye-popping numbers, the crossover has LED lighting units, a frunk, and a power liftgate. They’re joined by staggered wheels that measure 20 inches front and 21 inches rear.

Jeep’s New Grand Wagoneer Shows Its Face But Hides Something Even Bigger

  • Jeep has teased the facelifted 2026 Grand Wagoneer, ahead of its debut this fall.
  • New design inspired by Wagoneer S features light bar and illuminated grille.
  • The luxury SUV could be offered with an all-new range-extended powertrain.

During a media briefing in Detroit, Jeep officials revealed four new models are coming in the next four months. This includes the redesigned Cherokee, the facelifted Grand Cherokee, and the all-new Recon. While we’ve already seen those vehicles before, Jeep has now released the first picture of the 2026 Grand Wagoneer.

Set to arrive this fall, the full-size SUV adopts an all-new front fascia that draws inspiration from the Wagoneer S. It features a minimalist seven-slot grille with an integrated LED light bar. They’re flanked by slimmer headlights that have horizontal daytime running lights.

More: Jeep Launches A $76,535 SUV For Value-Conscious Consumers

The changes continue below with an edgier bumper, which has a larger air intake with linear accents. They’re accompanied by new lights that give off a bit of a Volvo vibe.

Eagle-eyed observers will also notice a charging port on the front fender, indicating this is likely the Grand Wagoneer 4xe. The range-extended variant was announced over a year ago and it’s expected to use the same powertrain as the Ram 1500 Ramcharger.

This means we can look forward to a 3.6-liter V6 engine, a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, and a roughly 92 kWh battery pack. This setup gives the truck 663 hp (494 kW / 672 PS) and 615 lb-ft (833 Nm) of torque as well as a range of up to 690 miles (1,110 km).

If you’re not ready to embrace electrification, there should be a familiar twin-turbo 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six. It currently develops 540 hp (403 kW / 548 PS) and 521 lb-ft (706 Nm) of torque.

While the Grand Wagoneer got off to a less than stellar start, Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf sounded upbeat on the future of their full-size SUVs. He also revealed the standard Wagoneer will follow shortly after the flagship and implied there could be greater differentiation between the two models. That remains to be seen, but it would be nice if the Grand Wagoneer didn’t look virtually identical to the mainstream variant.

The Mask Comes Off On Mercedes’ Most Dramatic Electric SUV Yet

  • Mercedes has revealed its first teaser image of an undisguised GLC.
  • The single picture shows an illuminated grille with classic influences.
  • We’ll see the new compact EV at this September’s Munich IAA show.

Mercedes is breathing new life into what was once its cars’ most distinctive feature. The brand has dropped the first undisguised teaser image of its new GLC compact electric SUV, revealing its retro-futuristic illuminated grille.

More: Mercedes Is Replacing Its Most Disappointing EV With Something Way More Serious

Though EVs don’t have the same cooling requirements as combustion cars, the replacement for the EQC will have the most eye-catching grille of any Mercedes car when it is unveiled at the Munich IAA next month. The wide-set frame bucks current automotive fashion by going big on chrome, and also features a smoked glass-effect lattice structure between the bars.

A Familiar Shape Reinvented

But GLC buyers will have to pay extra to maximize the grille’s look-at-me potential. An optional illumination package adds 942 light-up dots, which are animated to bring the car to life as the driver approaches, and also illuminates the iconic three-pointed star and surrounding panel.

Mercedes has taken flak for the boring soap-bar design of its slow-selling EQE and EQS electric cars, and the new grille design will help ensure the GLC is more memorable. But it sounds like the BMW iX3 and Porsche Macan Electric rival won’t be the only model to get this new lit front-end.

A Brand-Wide Shift in Design

According to Mercedes design chief Gordon Wagener, the grille marks more than just a facelift. “Our new iconic grille is not just a new front for the GLC, it redefines the face of our brand,” said Mercedes design boss, Gordon Wagener. “It is the perfect fusion of lasting design codes reinterpreted for the future, making our cars instantly recognizable.”

The change is part of a broader strategy. Autocar reports Mercedes CEO Ola Källenius as saying the brand’s reimagined grille would help Mercedes stand out “in current times, with 100-plus Chinese firms.”

Charging Ahead with GLC 400 4Matic

The first of the new GLCs to launch is the GLC 400 4Matic with EQ technology. Though exact specs are still under wraps we know it can add around 162 miles (260 km) of electric range in just 10 minutes thanks to its ability to charge at over 320 kW. Like all new GLCs it features 800-volt tech, and unlike the launch versions of the new CLA EV, will also be able to charge at 400-volt stations from the get-go.

The Next Octavia Will Be Very Different From What You Imagine

  • Skoda is teasing the Vision O wagon concept heading for September’s Munich IAA show.
  • The Vision O previews the next-generation electric Octavia, which is due on sale by 2029.
  • It’s twinned with the next VW ID.Golf, but a longer wheelbase brings more space inside.

Update: With the Munich IAA show drawing closer, Skoda has released another shadowy teaser of its upcoming Vision O Wagon, this time offering a glimpse of the interior. The latest images reveal little more than the panoramic roof and a few 3D-printed details.

Skoda says the interior concept is designed to balance simplicity with practicality, combining clean lines and airy 3D-printed headrests with plant-based, compostable materials that help reduce the car’s environmental footprint.

“The interior design concept of the Vision O showcases our commitment to combining simplicity and sustainability with enhanced comfort,” said Oliver Stefani, Head of Skoda Design. “The combination of clean lines and intuitive functionality reflect our efforts to create a harmonious and functional interior. It features materials and design elements that are not only aesthetically an evolution of our Modern Solid design language but also emphasize environmental responsibility.”

The original story continues below.

The Next Octavia Will Be Very Different From What You Imagine

It’s a great time to be a Skoda salesman. The Czech company’s registrations were up 13.6 percent in the first six months of 2025 due in no small part to the success of its electric SUVs, the Elroq and Enyaq. They’ll be joined this year by the smaller Epiq, but today Skoda reminded us that its big-selling sedans and wagons are also getting the EV treatment.

VW’s non-nonsense Czech brand is teasing the Vision O concept it will reveal in full at the Munich IAA in September. The ‘O’ tells us it previews the next-generation Octavia compact, which is due on sale before the end of the decade and features an EV drivetrain for the first time.

A single silhouetted image shows the unmistakable profile of a wagon, and one that looks sportier than anything Skoda has produced up until now. The windshield is swept back into a low roofline that drops slightly at the rear, where it’s met by a rear hatch angled to earn style and aero efficiency points, rather than luggage-carrying ones.

There’s a definite Audi feel to the design, which calls to mind the A6 e-tron Avant from sister company Audi, though the front and rear LED signature makes clear this is Skoda’s work. Skoda says the concept will show how the brand is developing its Modern Solid design language for the next generation of its cars.

The Next Octavia Will Be Very Different From What You Imagine
Skoda
The Next Octavia Will Be Very Different From What You Imagine

Under the skin, the next Octavia isn’t twinned with the bigger A6 e-tron, which uses VW’s PPE platform, but the smaller VW ID.Golf that’s due to hit showrooms by 2029, around the same time as the Skoda. The Golf and Octavia EVs will ride on the Group’s SSP platform, and each gets 800-volt charging tech, but a longer wheelbase and overall length mean the Skoda will offer more interior and luggage space, and should cost slightly less. Owners have long argued that the Octavia is the best Golf.

Single and dual-motor powertrains will be on the menu when the production car hits the street in three to four years, but don’t expect it to render the current combustion Octavia obsolete immediately. The popularity of hybrid powertrains in Europe means the two models will likely overlap for some time.

GM Brings Back America’s Cheapest EV With A Few New Tricks

  • Chevy has released a series of revealing teasers for the next gen Bolt EV.
  • The entry-level electric hatch will debut in full later this year as a 2027MY.
  • It promises styling upgrades, a NACS port, and “some other cool stuff”.

After a brief hiatus, Chevrolet’s popular electric hatchback is almost ready to make a comeback. General Motors is reviving the budget-friendly Bolt, promising it will return “better than ever” as part of the 2027 model year lineup. Teasers of the upcoming version offer a more detailed preview than usual, though the design appears to lean more toward a thorough refresh than a full redesign.

One catch is that, while Chevrolet has confirmed the Bolt EV will be revealed in full this year, the 2027 model year designation likely points to a market launch in 2026

Back in December 2023, GM CEO Mary Barra confirmed that a new generation of the Bolt would debut in 2025, alongside a cryptic teaser that was focused on the model designation on the tailgate. Reports that followed in 2024 suggested that the Bold would return as a whole family of EVs. This time, however, Chevrolet has released clearer images that give a better sense of what’s coming.

More: Chevy’s Biggest Surprise Might Wear A Classic Name And Look Nothing Like The Original

Unlike the usual dimly lit teasers, the latest images show the 2027 Bolt out in the open, fully uncovered. Up front, it features a set of sharp-looking LED headlights with a familiar but more assertive appearance. These flank a slim grille with the Chevrolet emblem, while the lower bumper is textured and features a honeycomb-style cooling intake.

At the back, the taillights adopt a more conventional shape compared to the previous model, and are not attached to the rear glass anymore. Also visible is the updated NACS charging port on the front fender, which will allow Bolt owners to tap into Tesla’s Supercharger network. The black trim extending from the headlights remains a signature design detail, carried over from earlier versions.

Design Tweaks and Technology Updates

\\\\\

Chevrolet refers to the Bolt as “the first long-range, mass-produced EV available to customers at a truly affordable price.” The company says the upcoming version will build on that foundation with updates to the front fascia, rear lights, and charging hardware—plus “some other cool stuff” to be revealed later.

More: Chevy Has A New SUV For Budget Buyers But Not Everyone Gets It

Together, the comments and visuals suggest that the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt will be a heavily redesigned version of the original that debuted in late 2016 and received a mid-lifecycle update in 2021 before being discontinued in late 2023.

While early reports pointed to the new Bolt switching to GM’s Ultium platform, now no longer referred to by that name, it appears that the car will continue to use a revised version of its previous BEV2 architecture. This updated platform will incorporate newer tech, and GM is expected to use a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack to help keep costs down.

Production of the previous Bolt EV and EUV ended in late 2023 at the Orion Assembly plant in Michigan. The upcoming model is slated to be built at the Fairfax factory in Kansas City.

Chevrolet says more information about the 2027 Bolt will be shared in the coming months. A full unveiling is expected before the end of the year, although whether deliveries will begin this year or in early 2026 remains to be seen. Pricing is expected to come in slightly above the outgoing version, which started at $28,795.

Mercedes Is Replacing Its Most Disappointing EV With Something Way More Serious

  • The new GLC EQ will replace the underwhelming EQC and rival the new BMW iX3.
  • Up front, it features an illuminated grille and a light-up three-pointed star badge.
  • An 800-volt system with 320 kW DC charging capability will power the electric SUV.

Even as the EV market continues to shift and evolve, Mercedes-Benz is moving ahead with plans to expand its electric lineup. Mercedes-Benz has been working on the new all-electric GLC with EQ Technology for quite some time, and we now finally know when it will be unveiled.

Read: Mercedes Previews New GLC EV With 320+ kW DC Fast Charging

As previously speculated, it will premiere at the IAA Mobility show in September, more commonly known as the Munich Motor Show. In an era where electric SUVs and crossovers are becoming increasingly popular, the GLC EV will play an important role for the German brand.

The upcoming GLC EV will effectively replace the EQC, a model that struggled to make an impression. It’s expected to match the overall size of the combustion-engine GLC, but with a distinctly updated design. Mercedes describes it as “a new face of the brand,” signaling a more modern and refined aesthetic.

Design Details Come Into Focus

Mercedes has released a single teaser image previewing the new model, but prototypes spied in recent months have offered us a better look at the model. The teaser hints at an illuminated front grille that gives the SUV a more prominent presence. Prototypes have also revealed reworked LED headlights and taillights, indicating a comprehensive redesign.

Mercedes Is Replacing Its Most Disappointing EV With Something Way More Serious

Key rivals to the GLC with EQ Technology include the Porsche Macan Electric and the BMW iX3, which will soon be thoroughly updated as part of the brand’s Neue Klasse era. Fittingly, the automaker has developed an 800-volt electrical architecture for the SUV that offers DC fast charging speeds of up to 320 kW. That means it will be possible to add roughly 162 miles (260 km) of range in just 10 minutes.

\\\\\\\

Launch Version and Future Plans

The first version arriving on the market will be the GLC 400 4Matic with EQ Technology. Mercedes hasn’t shared specific performance details yet, including motor configuration or acceleration times, but a more powerful variant is likely to follow not long after.

Other than presenting the electric GLC, in Munich Mercedes will also showcase the MB.Drive Assist Pro semi-autonomous driving system and offer rides in a specially-equipped CLA. The EQS and S-Class with Drive Pilot will also be available for demo drives. Joining the GLC with EQ on display be the radical new Concept AMG GT XX.

Cupra’s Latest Concept Is Ribbed For Your Pleasure

  • Cupra has teased a new concept, ahead of its debut at IAA Mobility 2025.
  • The mysterious model will preview the brand’s new design language.
  • The company will also show a camouflaged Raval as well as new special editions.

The Munich Motor Show is less than two months away and Cupra is looking to make a splash. As part of this effort, they’ll introduce a camouflaged Raval on September 7th and an all-new concept on September 8th.

Cupra isn’t saying much, but revealed the mysterious concept embodies their “brand vision and future design language.” The company went on to say it’s the “perfect symbiosis between human and machine, where the driving experience and emotions reach their fullest expression.”

More: Cupra Raval Spied As A Warm-Up Act For VW’s Crucial New EV

Marketing hyperbole aside, the teaser video shows a futuristic center console with a flowing metal band, minimalist switchgear, and an illuminated diamond-like element. We can also get a glimpse of diamond-shaped ribbed accents and a triangle made out of either crystal or glass.

The Raval, on the other hand, will be a series production model shown in disguise. Spy photographers snapped the electric hatchback last month and it’s a sister model to the Volkswagen ID.2. It’s slated to ride on the new MEB Entry platform and Volkswagen has hinted at a version with 223 hp (166 kW / 226 PS) and up to 280 miles (450 km) of range. Since the ID.2 is slated to spawn GTI and R variants, we can likely expect hotter Ravals as well.

The Raval will go into production next year at the Martorell assembly plant. That’s a slight delay as the model was originally slated to arrive in 2025.

Last but not least, Cupra announced plans to introduce Tribe Editions of the Formentor, Terramar, and Leon / Leon Sportstourer. The special editions are being billed as ideal for customers “looking for uniqueness and differentiation with a contemporary, sustainable twist.”

Subaru’s Next EV Ventures Into Uncharted Territory

  • Subaru has teased the 2026 Uncharted EV ahead of its debut next week.
  • It is a compact crossover that appears to be a rebadged Toyota C-HR.
  • If so, we can expect two batteries, three powertrains, and up to 338 hp.

After a slow start, Subaru is going all-in on electric vehicles. The effort kicked off earlier this year with the unveiling of the facelifted Solterra and the all-new Trailseeker.

The journey continues on July 17 with the debut of the 2026 Uncharted. The company isn’t saying much at this point, but revealed the model is a compact crossover that promises to be “ready for your next adventure.”

More: Toyota’s C-HR Returns To America But It’s Nothing Like You Remember

Besides revealing the name, the automaker released a dusty teaser image. It shows a Solterra-esque rear end with a split upper spoiler and a lower mid-mounted spoiler. We can also see slender taillights, an angular rear window, and “SUBARU” lettering on the liftgate.

Additional details are hard to make out, but we can see a rounded roof that is painted in a contrasting black color. We also get a glimpse of an angular shoulder line and what appears to be a bulge near the third-quarter glass.

Subaru’s Next EV Ventures Into Uncharted Territory

Little else is known about the model , but previous reports have suggested the crossover is another tie-up with Toyota. This makes a lot of sense as the Uncharted appears to have a lot in common with the Toyota C-HR.

If Subaru’s new EV is indeed a rebadged C-HR, we can expect a 77 kWh battery pack as well as a standard dual-motor all-wheel drive system developing 338 hp (252 kW / 343 PS). This should enable the crossover to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in around five seconds and have a range of roughly 290 miles (467 km).

In terms of size, the Uncharted should measure around 178 inches (4,520 mm) long with a wheelbase that spans 108.3 inches (2,750 mm). That would make the model 6.6 inches (168 mm) shorter than the Solterra, with 3.9 inches (99 mm) less between the wheels.

America Is Getting A Luxurious Electric Van From Mercedes

  • Mercedes has teased the upcoming VLE, which will presumably replace the V-Class.
  • The model rides on the all-new VAN.EA platform and will be offered in North America.
  • The van offers seating for up to eight people and will be followed by a luxurious VLS.

Earlier this year, Mercedes announced plans for two new vans called the VLE and VLS. At the time, the company said they would ride on their new van platform and sit at the “top-end of its model portfolio.”

Fast forward to today and Mercedes has released the first official pictures of the VLE. It’s expected to replace the V-Class and be a more luxurious version of the next-generation Vito.

More: Mercedes Teases Future Electric Vans With VAN.EA Prototypes

The company didn’t say much about the van, but the VLE features a fully enclosed grille that is flanked by large headlights. We can also see a wide lower intake as well as a short hood.

Elsewhere, there’s a rakish windscreen that flows into a gently sloping roof. Designers also gave the model slab-sided bodywork and flush-mounted door handles. They’re joined by a surprisingly compact greenhouse as the beltline is significantly higher than on the V-Class.

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

There isn’t much to see out back, but the van has a sizable spoiler and vertical taillights, which are temporary placeholders for the production units. The model also has a plain rear bumper and a huge liftgate.

While Mercedes isn’t saying much, the automaker confirmed two prototypes traveled 677 miles (1,090 km) from Stuttgart to Rome with only two 15-minute charging stops. The company went on to note this was harder than it sounds as the route included “winding, steep mountain passes through the Alps, long highway stretches, busy rural roads, and tight city streets.” Speaking of the latter, the firm said rear axle steering came in handy as it allowed for greater maneuverability in urban environments.

Little is known about the VLE at this point, but the automaker previously said their upcoming vans will ride on the VAN.EA architecture and offer front- and all-wheel drive. They’ll also have 800V technology, a 22 kW AC charger, and the latest version of the Mercedes‑Benz Operating System.

America Is Getting A Luxurious Electric Van From Mercedes

We can also expect “well over” 311 miles (500 km) of range as well as a Level 2 semi-autonomous driving system. A Level 3 system is slated to arrive by the end of the decade and make long trips even more relaxing.

Despite not revealing much, Mercedes confirmed the VLE will be able to seat up to eight people. The company said this will make it ideal for families as well as use as a VIP shuttle. The VLS, on the other hand, will “define a unique segment of its own that bestows true greatness to automotive luxury.”

Marketing hyperbole aside, Mercedes confirmed plans to offer electric midsize vans in Canada, China, and the United States. These will be passenger-focused models known as “Grand Limousines,” instead of commercial vehicles like the Vito.

Volvo’s Next Electric SUV Is Arriving In 2026

  • Underpinning the new EX60 will be the automaker’s new SPA3 architecture.
  • This new model will likely share powertrain components with other Volvo EVs.
  • New Volvo models like the ES90 support 350 kW DC fast charging.

Volvo’s fleet of electric vehicles features models like the EX30, EX40, C40, and the EX90. As of a few months ago, it now also includes the ES90 sedan, conceived as a rival to the BMW i5. Soon, the brand’s EV family will welcome a new member in the form of the EX60.

First teased as a clay model during the unveiling of the ES90 in March, the EX60 will serve as an electric alternative to the compelling – but aging – XC60. This image shared on social media reveals one of the SUV’s taillights. It features a blocky design with prominent LED lighting signatures and, as is customary for a Volvo SUV, the lights extend up the rear pillars.

In the post, the company noted that the EX60 is “fully software-defined and built to evolve over time.” It added, “the Volvo EX60 is more than a midsize SUV, it’s the future. Arriving in early 2026.”

Volvo is remaining tight-lipped about many of the EX60’s key details. However, we know it will be its first model based on the scalable SPA3 architecture, an upgraded version of the SPA2 platform used by the EX90 and ES90.

Details about the powertrains that will be offered for the XC60 are not yet known. However, it’s reasonable to assume it may have similar specs to the ES90, likely being available in single- and dual-motor guise. If the EX60’s battery pack matches the 102 kWh capacity of the ES90, its range should be close to the 400-mile (644 km) mark. Thanks to a DC fast charging capabilities, juicing up this battery should be quick. The ES90 supports 350 kW inputs, and 186 miles (300 km) of range can be added in just 10 minutes.

Earlier this month, Volvo announced the EX60 would be the first model to receive its new multi-adaptive safety belt. This uses sensors to determine the height, weight, and shape of a passenger and can tailor the amount of force needed in the event of a crash.

AMG’s New Model Has Ferrari-Like Circular Lights

  • Mercedes is about to unveil a new performance model, rumored to be called AMG GT XX.
  • The exterior design has been shown in official teasers and leaked photos ahead of its debut.
  • Highlights include circular taillights, a pixel LED panel, and a large illuminated grille up front.

A new Mercedes-AMG is coming, and while it remains shrouded in mystery, photos of it have been leaked online, following the official teasers. Painted in a bright shade of orange, it appears to be the long-awaited electric sedan, set to rival the Porsche Taycan and the Audi e-tron GT.

The automaker first teased this new model earlier in the month, releasing an image of the hood and the roof. These looked similar with the Vision One-Eleven concept from back in 2023, which also featured a bright orange paint scheme.

In April, a different teaser was released, showing the silhouette of a sleek four-door sedan, lending credence to the earlier spy shots of a Porsche Taycan rival. This has already been previewed by the Mercedes Vision AMG Concept from 2022, although the production version appears to have evolved in terms of styling.

The latest teasers are a lot more revealing, confirming the absence of a rear window, just like the Polestar 4 and the Avatr 12. The tail boasts six circular taillights, positioned much higher than the concept. Between them, there is a pixel LED panel similar to a Hyundai Ioniq 5, which might be configurable to display custom messages.

A set of leaked photos that surfaced online earlier today show a large grille which appears to be illuminated. The model has a sharp nose and fender-mounted LED headlights that bring to mind the SLR Stirling Moss from 2009.

The interior looks like it came straight out of a concept car, with a yoke-shaped steering wheel and a digital cockpit that looks different from other production Mercedes-AMG models. We can also see orange ambient lighting and straps instead of door handles.

MG’s New EV For Europe Takes After Aston Martin

  • MG will show two new production EVs for Europe at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
  • One of the models appears to be the IM Motors IM6 that’s already on sale in China.
  • The company will also bring the new Cyberster Black edition and the Cyber X concept.

The 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed is just around the corner and MG is here with fresh teasers. The SAIC-owned brand with the British heritage will introduce two new EVs for the European market on July 10th. These will be joined by UK debuts of the Cyberster Black roadster and the Cyber X urban SUV concept.

Starting with the upcoming production models, MG refers to them as “two new, technologically advanced EVs”. A dark teaser suggests that one of them is the IM Motors IM6, which is already on sale in China. The same EV has also been announced for Australia with the unusual brand name “IM presented by MG Motor”, joined by a mechanically-related sedan. Hopefully the European-spec version will adopt a simpler naming scheme.

The IM6 measures 4,904 mm (193.1 inches) long and has a coupe-SUV silhouette with LED taillights reminiscent of Aston Martin. Its most powerful version generates 767 hp (572 kW / 778 PS) and 802 Nm (591.5 lb-ft) of torque from dual electric motors, allowing for a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint in 3.48 seconds.

MG said that one of the new models will “unleash its phenomenal EV acceleration on the iconic hill climb”, although it didn’t get into specifics.

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

Visitors at Goodwood will also be able to check out the MG Cyberster Black, a special edition of the electric roadster featuring a black exterior with contrasting chrome accents and a matching interior. MG has recently introduced a few updates for the Cyberster, alongside the addition of the Cyber GTS coupe bodystyle flavor.

As for the Cyber X, it arrives in the UK after its debut at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show last April. The concept which is believed to preview an urban SUV for production features rugged styling and pop-up headlights, with an off-roader stance reminiscent of a mini Land Cruiser.

Another model that will be put through its paces at the hill climb is the MG EX4 EV, returning this year with a new livery inspired by the Metro 6R4 Group B rally car of the 1980s. Furthermore, the company’s stand will also include the fully electric MGS5 SUV and MG4 XPower hatchback, as well as the new generation of the HS SUV.

MG is currently present in nearly 120 countries all around the world. In Europe, it sold 240,000 units last year and hopes to further increase that number by introducing more models in a variety of segments.

AMG Teases Something Wild And Orange But There’s No Rear Window In Sight

  • AMG teases radical electric model with no rear window and aggressive design cues.
  • New mystery model likely draws heavily from 2023’s Vision One-Eleven concept car.
  • Electric powertrain may use Yasa’s compact axial flux motors producing 489 hp each.

AMG has come a long way from the days when it only built modified versions of Mercedes-Benz models. Nowadays, it has its own sedan in the form of the GT 4-Door, an F1-powered hypercar, and soon, it will have an electric sedan and an electric SUV. As it turns out, it also appears to be preparing a second supercar, or hypercar, inspired by the Vision One-Eleven concept from 2023.

Earlier today, AMG released two teaser images of the new model, revealing that “something big is right around the corner.” No further details were provided about what exactly we are looking at, but it does share some obvious similarities to the 2023 concept, which itself was inspired by the classic Mercedes C111.

First is the paint. The unique shade of orange is very similar to what was found on the C111 and the Vision One-Eleven concept. One of the teaser images also appears to show a painted hood with a black element, a large air vent, and strakes that are very similar to those of the C111 and the concept.

The second teaser image is slightly more mysterious but appears to show the roof of the car, including a large ‘AMG’ logo and the notable absence of a rear window.

\\

There’s a slight chance that the teased model could also be AMG’s long-awaited four-door electric sedan. However, prototypes of that car featured traditional rear windows and did not have complex hood vents as shown in these teasers.

Mercedes-AMG has been known to be working on an all-electric hypercar since at least last year, positioned as a direct rival to the Porsche Mission X. This model is thought to be based on the Vision One-Eleven and will use the new AMG.EA architecture with an advanced 800-volt architecture.

Late last year, Carscoops reported that the new car will use a lithium-ion battery pack with cylindrical cells from Sila Nanotechnologies in the US. It may also feature complex axial flux electric motors developed by Yasa, a British company Mercedes acquired in 2021. Each of these motors produces up to 489 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque while weighing just 53 lbs (24 kg).

Hyundai’s New Electric Sedan Takes The Ioniq 5 N Formula Up A Notch

  • Hyundai released a new teaser of the high-performance Ioniq 6 N electric sedan.
  • It promises advanced suspension geometry and customizable drift settings.
  • The EV will make its world debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this July.

Update: Hyundai has released new details on the upcoming Ioniq 6 N, including specifics on its chassis setup and driving modes. We’ve updated our original story.

Hyundai’s electric performance lineup continues to evolve, and the Ioniq 6 N is set to raise the bar when it makes its official debut at Goodwood on July 10. Following the well-received Ioniq 5 N, which proved that an electric hot hatch can go toe-to-toe with its combustion counterparts, this new performance sedan aims to deliver sharper dynamics.

The Ioniq 6 N has been quietly progressing for some time. Its roots can be traced back to the 2022 RN22e concept, followed by sightings of camouflaged prototypes over the past few years. The first official teaser arrived in April 2025, timed with the reveal of the facelifted base model. More recent previews offer a clearer picture, highlighting the car’s sportier stance and intent.

The latest round of teasers offers a clearer glimpse of the upcoming EV, emphasizing its performance-driven design and intent. Highlights include a revised suspension setup, refinements to Hyundai’s simulated gearbox and sound system, and upgraded drift tuning for more precise control on the track.

Sharper Looks, Familiar Shape

While the Ioniq 6 N carries over the split headlight layout and sporty bumpers from the refreshed N Line model, a few key details separate it from the pack. Around back, it sports a prominent swan-neck rear wing perched above the integrated ducktail spoiler, giving the sedan a more track-ready silhouette.

A closer inspection shows wider fenders front and rear, along with more aggressive bumper inserts that hint at its enhanced performance. The teaser images show the car in Hyundai N’s signature Performance Blue paint, accented by familiar red trim. Lightweight alloy wheels wrapped in sticky performance tires complete the look.

Aggressive Chassis Setup, Fake Sounds, And More Drift

While the Ioniq 6 N shares its platform with the Ioniq 5 N, Hyundai has introduced several upgrades that build on its lower ride height and more aerodynamic shape. These changes are aimed at improving handling and responsiveness, with the company highlighting a “fully redesigned suspension geometry.” Key revisions include a lowered roll center, a longer caster trail, and new electronically controlled stroke-sensing (ECS) dampers designed to better manage body movement and grip.

The EV will also feature updated versions of Hyundai’s N e-Shift and N Active Sound+ systems, now available across all drive modes. These enhancements are designed to replicate the feel and sound of a traditional performance car, right down to the simulated gear changes. The faux dual-clutch transmission uses a close-ratio setup, accompanied by an “N Ambient Shift Light” that signals when it’s time for the driver to make a virtual shift.

Rounding out the performance upgrades, the enhanced N Drift Optimiser introduces a wider range of settings to help drivers fine-tune the car’s behavior based on their own drifting skill level. Hyundai notes that this system is designed with track use in mind.

Hyundai hasn’t shared official powertrain specs just yet, but it’s likely the Ioniq 6 N will carry over the dual-motor setup from the Ioniq 5 N. That model delivers 601 hp (448 kW / 609 PS), with a temporary bump to 641 hp (478 kW / 650 PS) when N Grin Boost is activated. The same 84 kWh battery pack is expected to carry over as well, providing more than enough muscle to put it in direct competition with the Tesla Model 3 Performance.

Joon Park, Vice President and Head of the N Management Group, says the Ioniq 6 N is designed to deliver “the most engaging driving experience possible in an EV.”

More details are expected when the car takes to the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 10.

BMW’s New Electric SUV Goes 400 Miles And Knows What You’ll Do Before You Do

  • BMW has revealed the new iX3 will debut at the Munich Motor Show in September.
  • EPA range expected to reach 400 miles thanks to high-density cylindrical battery cells.
  • New Motorway & City Assistant system can brake for red lights and resume when green.

BMW has released new details about the redesigned iX3, ahead of its debut at the Munich Motor Show this fall. Set to become the first Neue Klasse vehicle, the crossover promises to be a major leap forward.

That isn’t just hype as BMW confirmed the model will use new cylindrical battery cells that have a 20% higher energy density than the prismatic cells being used today. Thanks to this change, the iX3 50 xDrive is slated to have an EPA range of up to 400 miles (800 km WLTP / 900 km CLTC).

More: BMW’s Baby M SUV Might Be Lurking Under This iX3

That’s a truly impressive number, but it’s just the tip of the iceberg as the model also has a 400 kW DC fast charging capability. This will enable the crossover to get more than 217 miles (350 km) of range in as little as 10 minutes.

Faster and Smarter Charging

Speaking of charging, the iX3 has an “intelligent charging flap” that automatically opens thanks to the use of artificial intelligence. As the automaker explained, when the driver approaches a familiar or learned charging point, the flap automatically opens when it arrives to make the recharging process a little faster and convenient.

Customers will also find bidirectional charging capabilities including Vehicle-to-Load, Vehicle-to-Home, and Vehicle-to-Grid. The latter functions are enabled by a new 19.2 kW Wallbox and they enable the crossover to act as an emergency power source.

Panoramic iDrive And New Driver Assist Technology

BMW’s New Electric SUV Goes 400 Miles And Knows What You’ll Do Before You Do

While most of the cabin is covered by cloth camouflage, the iX3 features a Panoramic iDrive system that consists of a pillar-to-pillar display as well as a large center-mounted screen running BMW Operating System X.

They’re joined by a funky, “shy-tech” steering wheel that has buttons that illuminate when various functions are available. They’re joined by slender air vents, door-mounted seat controls, and an optional 3D head-up display.

On the topic of technology, BMW confirmed the iX3 will have next-generation driver assistance systems that use AI. The crossover also has processing speeds that are 20 times faster than the previous system.

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

The automaker was hazy on specifics, but mentioned hands-free highway driving as well as an automatic lane change function. They’ll be joined by a new Motorway & City Assistant system, which “helps the driver in complex driving situations in urban areas.” It can reportedly handle tight corners and roundabouts as well as automatically brake for red lights, before resuming when they turn green.

There’s even cooperative steering and braking, which will allow drivers to turn the steering wheel or apply brakes “just a little.” Doing so will adjust the response of the automated driving system without shutting it off.

We can also expect an advanced parking system that offers an “AI-based selection of parking assistance services, parking space recognition, maneuver planning, and an improved parking experience.”

Production of the iX3 will begin late this year and deliveries will, presumably, begin shortly thereafter.

Nissan Takes A Leaf From The Z For Its Mass Market EV

  • The third-generation Leaf arrives with fastback crossover styling and new tech.
  • The EV is Nissan’s most aerodynamic model yet thanks to its clever design.
  • It produces up to 214 hp and has a maximum range of 303 miles (488 km).

Electric cars are evolving fast, and Nissan wants the next Leaf to prove it still has a place in the conversation. The company has finally unveiled the next-generation of what many consider to be the world’s first mass market EV promising to match the convenience of an ICE-powered vehicle.

More: Here’s What’s Coming To The 2026 Nissan Rogue

The new Leaf trades the the familiar hatchback shape of past models for a crossover profile, complete with a fastback-style rear. Key design elements up front include sharper LED headlights flanking a body-colored panel and an active grille shutter that adjusts to optimize airflow.

New Shape, Familiar DNA

Viewed from the side, the new Leaf draws a little inspiration from the Tesla Model Y, though it carves out its own identity with more sculpted lines and a bolder stance. Wheel sizes range from 18 to 19 inches, with a modern, angular design. The front doors get flush-mounted handles, while the rear handles are tucked into the C-pillars. Finally, the sporty tail with an integrated spoiler and dark-tinted taillights is reminiscent of the Nissan Z.

While slightly smaller overall than its predecessor, the latest Leaf is more aerodynamically efficient. The EV has a 2,690 mm (105.9 inches) wheelbase and measures between 4,350-4,405 mm (171.3-173.4 inches) long depending on the region. Nissan claims it’s their most aerodynamic production vehicle to date, with a drag coefficient of 0.25 in Europe and 0.26 in the US and Japan.

The small differences come down to things like wheels and mirrors, which are tweaked depending on the market. In the US, amber indicators in the wheel arches set the model apart.

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
\\\\\\\\\

Minimalist Cabin, Modern Tech

Moving inside, Nissan opted for a minimalist layout, following the latest trends. The digital cockpit comprises dual 12.3-inch or 14.3-inch displays depending on the trim and region. The new screens are joined by a two-spoke steering wheel with integrated controls, touch-sensitive shortcuts on the dashboard, and buttons instead of a traditional gear shifter.

Another highlight is the optional panoramic roof with an e-Dimming function. The later uses electrochromic technology and an infrared reflective coating, eliminating the need for a physical sunshade. High-spec models get a Bose Personal Plus audio system with additional speakers mounted on the front headrests.

The new generation also benefits from more sophisticated ADAS, including a 3D Intelligent Around View Monitor, Invisible Hood View and Front Wide View functionality. Select regions will also gain access to the new Intelligent Distance Control Assist for city driving.

Despite having a smaller footprint compared to its predecessor, Nissan says that the new Leaf offers a spacious cabin designed for the needs of a modern family. The boot has a capacity of 437 lt (15.4 cubic feet) in Europe and 420 lt (14.8 cubic feet) in the US.

FWD-Only Layout, Two Battery Options

Underneath, the Leaf shares its CMF-EV platform with the larger Ariya, which means a flat floor and a roomier cabin layout. However, unlike its bigger cousin, the Leaf is exclusively available with a single electric motor moving the front wheels. This motor is said to be 75% quieter and 10% smaller than before.

The entry-level version has a 52 kWh battery and an output of 174 hp (130 kW / 176 PS) and 345 Nm (254 lb-ft) of torque which is higher compared to its predecessor. The flagship trim upgrades to a larger 75 kWh battery and a stronger electric motor generating 214 hp (160 kW / 218 PS) and 355 Nm (262 lb-ft).

Nissan promises a longer range of up to 303 miles (488 km) for the bigger battery option, with fast-charging capability that can add 250 km (155 miles) in just 14 minutes. According to the company, this matches the average time that ICE-powered vehicle owners spend at gas stations, making the experience of owning an EV less of a burden. Furthermore, when connected to an 150 kW DC charge, the battery can replenish 10-80% of its charge in 35 minutes.

Overall, Nissan claims that the EV can compete an 800 km (500-mile) trip with “minimal time difference” to an ICE vehicle. As for the more optimistic range estimates in the WLTP cycle, those are 436 km (271 miles) for the 52 kWh battery and up to 604 km (375 miles) for the 75 kWh battery.

Charging Ports for Every Market

\\\\\\\\\\\\\
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

The US-spec Leaf gains a NACS-compatible charging port, providing access to the Tesla Supercharger network. Still, Japanese models will retain the CHAdeMO port and the European version keeps the traditional CCS port.

The liquid-cooled battery of the new generation is also equipped with a navigation-linked conditioning system, and an enhanced thermal recovery and management system for improved efficiency. The EV also comes with vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-load capability depending on the region.

More: Nissan’s New Hybrid System Promises EV-Like Benefits But At A Cost

Nissan also highlighted the new multi-link rear suspension, the improved maneuverability, and a 66% increase in lateral rigidity compared to the previous generation.

Richard Candler, Nissan’s vice president of global product strategy, says the goal was to make the new Leaf a real contender for buyers used to gas-powered vehicles. That meant designing a sleeker body without giving up on practicality, and ensuring long-distance driving was part of the deal.

Availability

The 2026 Nissan Leaf is set to arrive at US dealerships this autumn, with a gradual rollout to follow in other markets. In Europe, orders will begin this autumn with the first deliveries expected in spring 2026. Pricing details for each market will be shared closer to launch. Production will take place at Nissan’s Tochigi plant in Japan and the Sunderland facility in the UK.

Since its debut in 2010, Nissan says it has sold nearly 700,000 Leafs worldwide, using feedback from longtime owners to help shape the next generation.
